Speaking of laughably bad things in Star Trek... 
For those who spot this in time for the heads-up, tonight's H&I "TNG" re-run is "Sub Rosa" or, as it is also known, "the one in which a Starfleet officer with a medical degree and a distinguished post on the fleet flagship decides to resign her commission and throw away her entire career to stay in a fake-Scottish colony just so she can get rapturously boned by a green space ghost which, by the way, also used to bone her dead grandma!"
Yes, really! This is an accurate summary of an actual episode of Star Trek!

Watching it now (Pacific time).
I watched the first 20 minutes of "Section 31" which is apparently a movie and not a show. The first five minutes? Fantastic. Excellent story telling, acting, world building. Terrific first five minutes. The following 15 were ****. Then Michelle Yeoh said said "meh" in response to a mission briefing, and I turned it off and left the room.
We managed to watch it to about halfway through, and then turned it off. It was pretty bad.
At one point when they're in the bar, the background music had lyrics that were something like "he keeps blowing up my phone", at a bar, at a remote outpost in deep space, in the future. This is what they dare call Star Trek.
My thanks to all of you for your service and sacrifice to confirm what I'd read in several reviews outlining what a mess that thing is.

We couldn't get into ST Discovery.
I hung in there through Season 1 but could not get through Season 2.
On the other hand, we're big fans of Strange New Worlds. It feels more like ST than Discovery, if that makes sense.

Well, it is Gates McFadden.
She was under the influence of a horny ghost who liked to **** the maternal lineage of the Crusher family. He was apparently very charming.
Oh, there was a 15th episode. It was just terrible, the worst in the series.
Is it a joke? It's regarded as a very bad episode, but it's fun.
I'm fairly sure @Deleted member 409896 was making a joke, along similar lines of there being "only one Highlander movie," etc.
