Watched this "Trek Like" movie on Amazon with Tuvok, Troi, Quark and dude from Discovery.
For me, it was good for the first half then I figured it out. After the half it goes downhill into seeming like a collage film student project. In my opinion.
Some of you may enjoy it so give it a try.

Watch out for the lobster pillow. 
Very little exposure to the movies, but lots of the tv series, as of late...
The Original Series - since I was born in 67, this was a favorite when I was little
Next Generation - what is not to like? Perfect evolution of the show, great characterization
Deep Space 9 - had to watch numerous episodes to develop a taste for it

My thoughts as well for my favorite of the Star Treks. Blasphemy perhaps that I couldn't get into TOS
Some good episodes on Voyager and DS9. Tried watching Enterprise when it was on, but couldn't stay interested.
Binge watching them all on Netflix in (more or less chronological order.) Just finished the 3rd season of Ent, TOS, and TNG. I'll pick up DS9 when it comes time in the NG run, and Voy when it hooks up in DS9.
One of my Top 10 TNG episodes. Enjoy seeing the lives of the other crew on the Enterprise.
Working my way through this thread and catch up on the TNG one!
Question: Has anybody seen the "Star Trek Continues" series on Youtube?
The episodes play exactly like TOS, except they are new stories and new actors. But other than that it is as though the series just continued. It's even in the old screen format. It even has the same amount of "corn". For TOS fans, I recommend it.

It is amazing...I just don't find the actors have the charisma of the original series
I've watched it, and some of them are pretty good, story wise, not so good, effects wise. There are a couple of other fan series' as well. They vary by quality, but you can see they were done with reverence.
They're okay--and they did pursue some interesting ideas at times, other times not...
I've tried watching a lot of the trek fan fiction but I can't get through it. What is awesome and far more nerdy is Star Trek books. I'm reading one now that takes off from the mirror universe episodes in Enterprise. It's what happened after Hoshi took over the Defiant and the Empire. It's so silly but I love it.
I keep trying...but the actors are all wrong...Ugh...I just cannot accept anyone other than my favorite crew....The sets are fantastic..

It is very well done...and a thrill to see the original formula...I LOVE the music score
I was so disappointed that TNG was not like this when it came out
Kirk in this show looks good...they could have deepened his voice in the audio mix
Spock also lacks Nemoys trademark voice...as it was missing in the new movie series also
