It's always a good sign for a series when the best actors (and celebs from other arts) want to appear on it, even in a small role.
Just saw an episode of Discovery (season 2, maybe the second episode) Klingons attacking Federation. Bald Klingons. I have questions....
They're not worth asking
Just back away from the TV show and forget it ever happened.
Go watch two episodes of TOS.
Don’t ask. There are no answers. Star Trek Discovery is made by people who don’t like or care about Star Trek. If you like bad action and can convince yourself that what you’re watching is Space Action Adventure Show and not Star Trek, you might be able to enjoy it. But it’s not worth it. Even on that level it isn’t entertaining or satisfying and there are too many other good options for things to watch.
David Warner as Gul Madred. It was really good watching Stuart and Warner working together.
He was also "EviL' in Time Bandits".
After watching it a bit and not liking it as Star Trek, I tried watching it as you say, "Space Action Adventure Show" but that only lasted a short time & ultimately didn't work.
Too much lazy writing.

CBS Reportedly Plans To Bring Back Deep Space Nine's Captain Sisko
As Star Trek expands further and further on TV, more iconic characters from the franchise’s past are returning. Patrick Stewart led the charge in his own Picard series earlier this year, which likewise brought back many of his Next Generation co-stars, and we just learned this week that Voyager‘s Kate Mulgrew is set to reprise her role of Captain Janeway in upcoming animated show Star Trek: Prodigy. But could Avery Brooks be the next Starfleet legend to come out of retirement?
We Got This Covered has heard from our sources today – the same ones who told us that Anson Mount’s Pike was getting his own spinoff months before it became official – that CBS has plans to invite the Deep Space Nine actor back to step into the shoes of Benjamin Lafayette Sisko again. We’ve been told that they either want to get him on board a future season of Picard or give him his own show, but at this point, it’s unclear which route they’ll head down.
As said above, TNG and Voyager fans have been well fed between Picard, Lower Decks (with its Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis cameos) and the upcoming Prodigy, but Deep Space Nine has yet to enjoy the same revival as its fellow 90s shows. Maybe that’s because DS9 is a slightly divisive topic in the fandom, with not every viewer loving its different tone and feel, but there are certainly those who believe Sisko to be the best captain of the bunch. Even if you don’t think that, he definitely deserves the second chance that Picard and Janeway are getting to impress audiences.

I’m surprised Riker hasn’t had his own series.

Ok, I have just watched DS9, S2:E15 Paradise. And it is, thus far, the singularly most disturbing Star Trek episode I have EVER seen... EVER!
What, the actual, Eff?
Synopsis: A cult leader essential kidnaps a ship full of people, intentionally crash-lands on an uninhabited planet and builds "Paradise" in her image.
Enter Sisko and O'Brien who beam down to the surface to find out why this planet has life on it.
Loony Bin Cult Leader then proceeds to sent the Federation shuttle off into space stranding Ben and Miles with the Convert or Die cultists.
By the end of the episode it's revealed that the Cult leader has been using some bits of the initial shuttle to jam any type of communication with the outside world. The Cult members are SHOWN all this as the reason for taking the Crazy Broad In Charge back to the Federation for prosecution, and they DECIDE TO STAY ANYWAY!!! In spite of being lied to for TEN YEARS??? In spite of having their fellow cultists die when they could have been saved?
And NONE of this is presented (at least from my point of view) as cautionary tale, rather the sad lot seem content to continue the fraud.

Definitely disturbing, and it's an episode that sticks with me too. It seems to have been influenced (in a good way) by Cool Hand Luke and classic POW films.
However, what I've learned about cults and communities, I think that the ending is actually highly probable even if it defies viewers initial expectations. Community is an incredibly strong bond and life-long belief is tough to shift. As a real-life corrolary, consider all the folks who chose to remain in the FLDS sect (Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints - Wikipedia)
even after Warren Jeffs and some of the other leaders were convicted of some truly heinious crimes.
I've been binge listening to the absolutely fabulous "Let's talk about Sects" podcast recently and while many cults disolve it's shocking how many carry on or reinvent themselves long after the misdeeds of leadership and members become public.
I’m now approx halfway through S2 of TNG. I’d forgotten just how good this is.
I’d first watched it I guess in the 90s on VHS tapes as a wind down from evening/night shifts at work. So I may have missed bits and pieces.
I also forgot how much they made of Picards “Frenchness” in the early days.

Seasons one and two are so odd. Season three really sets the tone for the rest of the show but one and two maintain a unique tone which they really seem to get away from afterwards. One and two are widely regarded as the worst seasons, and it’s understandable. But there’s some good stuff there.
