Where is this going? Due to being in the last episodes of the show, Late for such a character development.

I was pondering “Where are they taking Deanna after TNG?” “Are they setting her up to become a command officer on another ship post TNG?”

just what I was thinking watching it

Thanks for clarifying - I misunderstood what you meant in your previous post.

I remember reading somewhere that Marina Syrtis had been pestering the writers for a long time for some real character development but it never materialized until the final season when the 3rd string writers were left in charge of what were essentially low budget, filler
episodes.

I watched S7 E19 “Genesis” yesterday and.... I could have done without it. Not a fan of the “de-evolution” story really.
But Reg Barclay got to introduce the “Dr Google” phenomenon, so at least that part was prescient.
It seems a few of the supporting characters are getting a bit more time this series. I’m guessing to give the actors a bit more work before this employment shuts down for them???
Just a guess.

I’ve nearly made it, only a few more I think.

You didn’t like Deanna Troi: Fish Woman?
You have six episodes to go. Only a couple of stinkers. The finale is great. In my mind that’s the end of Star Trek. I’ve omitted the four movies and the Picard show from canon.

Amphibian women? Lol - yeah I like Deanna Troi in all settings.
Look, of course there were parts that were amusing. “I hope when you wake up you’ll be a new man Mr Worf”

I wouldn’t have minded seeing Picard as a small primate.

6 more? Ok I saw the name and thought it sounded like a finale. ive corrected my previous post. Ta.

I looked at the episodes left and there’s one stinker, IMO. The remaining episodes are like a mishmosh of random scripts about different subjects and someone said “what the hell, let’s just do these.” The finale is a masterpiece though. One of the best last episodes of any show.

Agreed. In fact I recall hearing Ron Moore talking about writing this episode around the same time as he was working on the TNG film Generations and saying something to the effect of
“THIS [the finale] is what should have been the movie”
He’s right and my God, that finale on the big screen with a corresponding budget would have been epic.

Make it a great night! :D

John Delancie is great. Tremendous actor. I can’t imagine what Alex Kurtzman and friends will do with him. Lots of potential for storytelling when you have an omnipotent character. He’ll have to screw with android Picard somehow, although the writers might not know that he’s known for doing that. I wonder if they’ll have a throwaway line about why he looks like he’s in his 70s now.

He had such a small role in Breaking Bad....Good to see him...But hoped for a bigger part showcasing his acting skills..

He was amazing in BB. Put so much into such a small role. It was so well written. With very little onscreen time they establish how much he cared about Jane and how he tried to help her with addiction. The scene with him and Walter in the bar is one of my favorites. He played a government baddy in Stargate brilliantly too.

Will he come back as Judge in Medieval court?

I would love to see Rosario Dawson play Q...I do have a HUGE crush on her

As a random side comment, I don’t get why Data was not allowed to age. He was committed to being human in every possible way. Might that not include him deliberately aging his appearance artificially?
Because new trek is made by idiots.

Look at this.

He looked horrendous for no other reason than the people running that show make terrible decisions.

It’s a bad makeup job. They have so many physical and digital tools now to make that work. They failed. And besides that, it’s totally plausible to me that Data would age himself.

Easily.
Data’s “mother,” the android Noonian Soong made of his wife had built in aging capability. A throwaway line about Data implementing some new programming he found could’ve worked. But apparently Data’s consciousnesses was floating in limbo within the fabric of the universe? Or something? Data being involved at all was the problem. Even though he vaporized in an exploration they found his positrons and made more androids but had to make two of each for….reasons? And then Bruce Maddox sent androids played by an awful actress to the Borg reclamation project to find out something? The Borg reclamation project that existed for…..no reason at all?
