That was the intent of the creators of that show, to make the Enterprise what it could actually be in the real future, a sort of submarine in space. It felt real in the sense of the crew members ducking under support structures constantly, as well as new tech being NOT a given, it was trial and error and ingenuity, which I imagine you have some experience being in the Navy!

I certainly "get" that they sometimes ventured off mission in order to introduce sexual tension and T'Pol catsuit jiggle factor, but that was a grab for ratings similar to introducing 7 of 9 to Voyager.

Even with that garbage, Enterprise was (mostly) well written and executed. It certainly deserved a 5th season to explore the Romulan War era of ST.

When Trip and T'Pol's baby died, I sat watching silently as tears coursed down my face. I'm not ashamed, the show elicited an emotional response that I could relate to.

Anyone reading this thread, watch all of Enterprise with no prejudgement, and render a verdict. And you will receive applause if you skip the final drek episode. It was ended so badly, the actors could not bring themselves to participate fully. If you watch the final episode, you will see some bitter acting at the mistreatment of the characters and story line in a rush to end it and put all past episodes in the Enterprise D data banks as a historical archive for Riker and Troi to play with.

Since CBS is all about the D (dollar), they could do worse than resurrect Enterprise, if only for a season, to fill in the blanks and see where everyone on the crew wound up after the mission ended, or the gallant crew being integral in the Romulan War.

Heck, Captain Archer should be made Admiral and pick up from the last scene after the Federation is created. Give him back the Enterprise, bring Tripp back, and let Tucker and T'Pol have a successful union that brings forth the first human/vulcan protege. There could be a spinoff in the future regarding the successful and triumphant pairing that gives us the very first human/vulcan offspring.
I am not young and Enterprise was my favorite too.. it seemed more like it could be real.. like how the shower would have gravity issues.. much smaller quarters etc.. more like what a military vessel would be like. Plus Bacula played or more human captain..

I've always liked Enterprise overall--some stuff I didn't like about it--but taken on its own--yeah overall it gets a good grade.
For me after TOS & DS9, but ahead of the other stuff.

Not much activity here lately. Does species 8472 have your tongues?

In any event, we're on season 4 of Voyager, and I'm very much enjoying it. It's not quite as good as Deep Space 9, but it is close. Right around half way through season 3, the episodes became much better, and then took off when "7 of 9" joined the cast. We finished watching the animated series, which I had never seen before. It was mildly entertaining, though it seemed like they never decided if it were a kid's show or an animated series for adults. Looking forward to watching more Voyager, more Picard, and more Strange New Worlds!

Ok, I stumbled across Picard s2 on a streaming service via our new smart tv. I watched the season over a few days (I have s1 on dvd) and I enjoyed it. Much better than s1 I think, even if I kept thinking to myself ‘just how old is Patrick Stewart now.’
Interesting Borg development, not sure I buy it but still interesting.

Best show ever? No. Best Trek ever? No. But an enjoyable romp that brought some old favourites back on screen? Yes.

They’d better do a s3 soon if that is on the cards, while they still can.

Yes, season 3 of Picard has already been produced. We'll be enjoying it soon.

That said, we're on Season 6 of Voyager which is am still very much enjoying. Like Deep Space Nine, it's a series that really needs to be watched from the beginning to be fully appreciated. I like either of these much better than TNG. We'll probably watch Enterprise after we're done with Voyager.

I liked Enterprise, until the ending which felt like a rush job.

Voyager, I’ve watched quite a lot of but in bits and pieces and haven’t been inspired to watch it all. But I think I should. Thanks for that info.
