I’ve been a fan all along. I’ll watch just about anything Sci-Fi. TNG is my favourite but also liked DS9 and Voyager. I’ve watched them all and there’s something to be enjoyed in all the series. They all had dud episodes though. Anything with Q in it sucked. The singing episode in BNWs was just plain dumb. Seven of nine was a great character even besides the bod.
We just picked up this set of the original series remastered on blue ray. It's pretty awesome. You can choose to see the original films or remastered, which look a thousand times better, and there are special features. Commentary about the choices they made back in the day, and what & how to change during the remaster, to re-recording the original theme, etc. Highly recommended.
We've got the remastered set as well, and noticed they're also being shown in current syndication on the "rerun channels." They do look great, and I've really enjoyed the new effects and establishing shots as well. They did an excellent job updating things, while exercising enough restraint to keep from going over the top. As these things go, it's "just right!"

Yeah, there's a few Star Trek series in reruns on cable. But the original series is the only one I'll watch. You're right, the remastering folk did a good job of balance while buffing things up.

But format is square, not wide screen
I just watch it on Netflix as I am lazy ..Hah
One of things that makes the Original series so great is the music score and orchestra playing it. Instant suspense and intensity!
I am sad that the other versions in the Trek Universe lack the brilliance of that soundtrack during the show.
That remake Love project on the internet is fantastic...and recreates all of the 60s version look and sound.
But the Kirk character! I just cannot get past his voice!

I actually have that set as well. We got it used, very inexpensively, as I recall. It's the original versions - not remastered. I had become used to the remastered versions watching them on Paramount+, so when I saw the originals, I was taken back.
I wonder which version I am watching on Netflix?

They are all the "square" format, as that's how they were filmed. Even the remastered versions show as "square", or 4:3 format aspect ratio.
The primary giveaways are in the shots of the Enterprise, scenic establishing shots, and other effects. Some examples where folks have drilled into the minutiae:

For the most part, yes, but interestingly, there are 16:9 bits & pieces out there somewhere. A quick excerpt from the second link above:
To hedge their bets, a 16:9 widescreen version of the new VFX, along with the live action footage cropped to 16:9, was prepared, this hasn’t really been seen much, outside of a syndication run in Japan. The wider VFX can be seen in some episodes on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, but the live action is the original 4:3 ratio.
Looks like they got to 16:9 by cropping in, so I don't mind not having that done here. More details and comparisons:
TOS-R Goes Widescreen In Japan
As previously reported TOS-R made its debut in Japan (starting July 21st). This is first place to show the remastered Original Series outside the USA and it appears that the Japanese are also the first to see TOS-R in 16×9 widescreen. Here are some comparison images live action shot USA v Japan...
