Hey everyone,
I'm a new member (signed up some time ago, just started posting) and I'm looking for a Status to join the club.
If there's anyone who could help me, I would greatly appreciate it.
I've seen some gorgeous basses already, and I'm hoping to get my number soon :)

Best help i can say, is save up or sell a kidney....... They aint cheap :)

Check the statii forum as its a status fan forum, most status owners end up on there at some point.

Donr be afraid to look at the older models with wooden necks, they were and still are phenominal. The shark, barracuda, groove and trace elliot t bass are all available on the pre owned market usually at a decent price.

Other than that look on the website, find out what you like, download the price list and buy a nixon mask ;)

@kulit17 Thanks for the link, didn't know that site. Only downside is that there's 3 5stringers, and the only 4 string won't ship outside the US. I'm from Holland :(

Then watch the Basschat site, it's UK based, and there are always Statii for sale there every day of the week.

I've already posted on there, saying that I was looking for a headless 4 string. A bloke contacted me, saying that he had a headed S2 Classic for sale.
At first I said no thanks, but when I saw it and looked past the headstock I kinda fell in love.. gonna try and agree with him on a deal, wish me luck!

I have found a Kingbass owner who lives close by, and he told me that I could try it if he has time :hyper: (He won't sell it, he loves it too much)
I have asked him what model Kingbass he has, he hasn't responded yet, and I was was wondering if there's anybody here who knows if there's any similarities between the Kingbass and the S2 Classic?
My main concern is how the neck feels and plays. I mailed Rob Green before, and he told me that his pressing technology evolved a lot throughout the years. I was wondering if the neck of the Kingbass and the S2 are made in a similar way and have a similar feel to them.

From what i have gathered the general feel of the necks is a pretty universal stamp, obviously neck width and scale play their part...... But the inconsistencies with wooden necks is not evident, notes ring just as clear from the nut to the last fret (given chosen set up, mine was set nice and low and i only adjusted a smidge).

The king bass appears to be a narrower spacing than the S2 (S2 being more a P width, king closer to a J)

The basic neck construction techniques are the same, and the fretboards should have a similar feel, but the Kingbass and S2 bodies are quite different. The Kingbass is smaller and wants to be played higher up on the torso than the S2 and Stealth.

Hello everyone, I'm bassbeest, just made a new account.

I have tested the Kingbass I posted about earlier, and the next day I found it standing in my room next to my Ray34..drool
The guy was willing to sell it after all since he was looking at a new Alembic, and I got it for a pretty fair price. I will post pics as soon as possible :D

for the B1, impossible to know, there isn't a serial number, it was a special order from a German Store, but no more invoice from the original owner, this bass is so incredible that I should order a Stealth with the same electronics
