The Status Register - Official Status Graphite Club

FOR SALE : STATUS S2-Classic Headed 5 side & front red leds 2800 USD
Salut, Lulu! I suppose as the current secretary of the club, I have an obligation to point out that TB requires that all sales activity be on the forums designated for that purpose For Sale: Bass Guitars | TalkBass.com It's reserved for supporting members, but I see that you are one, so it ought not to be a problem. You'll find more buyers there than on this thread, in any case. Who knows, I might even want it for myself (but I'm saying "no....no....you don't need that...." and hoping to be convincing).

Welcome to the club, and while I'm sure you don't *need* a number, I'm gonna give you one anyway, if only to make our numbers seem more impressive. ;o) You're now #36 on the Status register.

Thanks! I finally got to gig the Streamline for the first time last night and it killed. So outrageously comfortable to play, great tone, just wonderful in every respect. I can't believe it but I might have a new #1 bass. I've been playing four stringers exclusively for years in this band but the transition to the Streamline 5 was almost effortless. Very happy camper here.

I just ordered a new Series 3 from Status. 5 string, headless, neck through, walnut burr top, mahogany body, gold hardware.
I had been on the verge of ordering a similar spec S2. When I saw the arch top on the S3 I couldn't resist. Now I just have to wait to June!

I have owned status basses before:
S2 headed, bolt on 5 string
Empathy 5 string
Stealth 5 string

Sold them to try other basses.

Cheers
Beil

I'll be curious to hear how you find the arch top of the S3 versus your memories of the Stealth body. The S2s are gorgeous basses but I keep thinking that I'd still prefer the ergonomics of my Stealth. At some point before Rob retires, I want another Status, but I'm torn between a Streamline and an S3 at this point.

I got mine used. Personally, I wouldn't have gone for the LEDs, but in every other respect it was exactly what I would have ordered so I made an offer on it. I had wanted one for a long time and figured I'd flip it if I didn't like it. It's staying, and something else will be going . . .

I had always regretted not getting LEDs on my two Status basses.
Indeed! extremely great guy to deal with too!

There is a good amount of info on his site:
Sims Custom Shop, Custom Built Guitars, Sims LEDs, L.E.Ds, Respray, Body Shop, Bodies, Scratchplates,
Lasers and Pickguards by Martin Sims.

if your interested in this, keep in mind you'd have to send your bass to him for the work in the UK.

Check out the gallery on his site too!
I thought this was pretty cool looking on a fretless - altough i can see it may be a bit distracting for some.....

The UK location kills it for me

First time poster - hi everyone :)

Here's mine.
Not getting played much lately - so I may be looking for a new home for it.
Can anyone point me to somewhere I can get an idea of its value please?
Bought around 1991, there's a number 127 on the 'head'View attachment 579946 .

Hi welcome to the Status forum and TB. You might want to pay to be a supporting member of TB.....just saying - since your advertising a feeler pretty much. In order to post value of something you are planning on selling - it is rather a gray area to ask this question on a non-classifieds forum since you need to be a supporting member to selling anything here on TB.

OK, sorry about that. I should read the rules more closely.
Just to clarify then - i'm not selling for now (original post edited). Just looking for advice on the model and so forth.
It's been bought and played pretty much in ignorance.

Sorry to have been a bit busy lately. 3 new members. 3 really pretty basses. I'm especially digging the purple Streamline fretless.

On the Status Register, I have added:

kulit17 #37
DukeDexter #38
Nic. #39

And DukeDexter, as has been noted, we're not supposed to give estimates or quote prices on the non-Supporting-Member forums, so I won't do so here. But you might look at places where second-hand Statii go up for sale, like Bass Central and the statii.com forums (signup required, but free).

Just sent Rob a new build:

Stealth 5 Headless
Fretted (no front markers)
16.5mm string spacing
White wrap-around LEDs
Woven chrome face
Satin finish on back of neck
Stealth circuit upgrade for variable mids
Chrome hardware
Hotwire round-wound strings

This'll be my second. Now the loooong wait starts.
