This wasn't my first rodeo. After being front and center for many Cattle Decapitation shows, I can dodge spit bile and vomit like a seasoned ninja. Actually Keith almost fell off the stage after they were done playing. Looked like he was close to puking but he kept it in haha.

Notice how his G string blends right in with the rosewood fretboard? It was completely rusted lol.
Not being very familiar with musical oddities or effects in general, I believe he was also performing dark magic. He had something that whenever he raised his arm, even from across the stage without his instrument his amp would feedback, but when he put his hand down it stopped.
There is something about ss sunns and fuzz, mine does the same thing at vol.4
Since there seem to be a lot of Weedeater fans here, I think y'all will enjoy this.

It takes a lot for a sludge band to really impress me, but count me impressed.
That article also mentions one of my favorite sludge bands, Thou. Everyone here should listen to Thou.
You should check out Salome.
They don't have a bassist, but for a bass-less group, they're pretty awesome.
And they did a split with Thou a bit back, too!

And as far as sludge, I've been spinning Black Tusk basically every day. They were amazing live when I caught them on the Buzzov*en reunion tour. Soooooo good!

I've listened to Salome before, actually. I've never been able to get into them, but I'll give it another shot.
I've heard that they either broke up or that Kat left the band, not sure which is true. And yes, Black Tusk is awesome live! I saw them open for Crowbar in December.

There are witnesses to the fact that I managed to fall asleep during a Salome show. I was on a couch 10 feet away from where they were playing in some dudes basement. Not as loud as Dark Castle but still pretty loud. I was not drunk. Just damn tired.
I've seen Salome at least ten times if not more, I've had conversations with all of them and they all tend to run in the same circles that I run in and even I don't know the whole story. They probably want to be hush hush about it, but from what I've heard the band is no more.
I recently picked up a Boss OC-3 Super Octave. I run my G&L SB-2 into that and into my bluebeard fuzz into my SVT and it sounds like I've summoned the overlord!
I have an EHX Micro Pog that I use for the same reason. Sure does bring the thunder.
Every bassist should own an octave-pedal. When you're in a three-piece rock situation this adds so much power and character to your sound and really helps you fill that space between the drums and the guitar.
youve inspired me to pick one of these up tomorrow and try it, although i worry about my speakers as we play in A and G, and i wonder if the octave pedal will either A. pick that frequency up, or B. just blow up my speakers lol.
what tuning are you guys in?
Actually we only tune down to Eb, although most people don't believe us!
My fuzz has been out of commission for a few days so I didn't get a chance to play with the octave settings too much (I use my fuzz to mellow my SB-2's MFD attack) but the overdrive setting worked fantastic in place of my fuzz!

I just put a Rotovibe in my chain.......kinda cool! But nothing beats the distortion/fuzz and wah combination.

Works for Bootsy. He many not be doom but his fuzzed out solos have stoner-like aesthetics.
Skip to about 3 minutes for a quick solo. If you watch the whole thing you'll know what it's like to have sex with Bootsy Collins.
