The Strymon Timeline: Damn straight, it needs it's own thread

How much better is this really than other high end digital delays? In comparison is it really worth the 500 bones?
It can do much more as well as sound just as good as any other delay on the market IMO. There are some high end digital (and analog) delays out there that don't do half as much as the Timeline and yet they come pretty close to its pricetag (Chrono Delay, Empress Super Delay and Plush Replay come to mind). I LOVE Eventide stuff, and I passed over their delay in favor of the Timeline if that says anything.
i ordered my Timeline on wednesday cannot wait for it to get here....
i did some reading on the site and it says that they dont recommend using the PP2+ because it only supplies 250 mA has anyone had issues?
what are you guys using to supply power to your timeline?
is anyone using the pedalpower 2+?
also if the shortage of Current is an issue has anyone thought of using the pp2+ sagg outputs 7 and 8 with the voltage doubler cable to supply more current but still be at 9V DC....
thanks for any input or comments i just dont want to run into any problems once i get mine in the mail and ready to use it....

I have a PP2+, but never tried the Timeline with it. I find it is more than powerful enough to run my SA pedals, but use walwarts for my Timeline & Eventide stuff.
alright so after a little research and reading i will answer my own question for myself and for others who might be curious... obviously you never want to run a pedal with less than the appropriate amount of current (amps (mA))
Some pedals will not even power on if you are not meeting the mA rating some will power on some will even work properly but it is not good for your pedal or your power supply to run them this way over time you will have problems....
long story short the timeline may work on the pp2+ but for you to use it properly you will need to drop an extra $6-$10 and buy the voodoo labs Current doubling adapter
the Current Doubling adapter can be inserted into any 2 outputs on the PP2+ and you will receive 9V out with 400-500 mA plenty of power to run the Timeline properly...

there's a billion TimeLine threads over on the gear page forum - I'm sure there's quite a few solutions for you guys (don't own any voodoo labs stuff).
In other news, Strymon has been posting several hints on their twitter in regards to the next update on the TimeLine - Presets can be named, Spillover between presets and global tap tempo. Definitely looking forward to updating.

Well, I've had the Timefactor for a couple years... That pedal can do just about anything... But that being said, the Timeline has much better analog delay sounds. Now the thing is there are a number of extremely flexible, versatile high-end digital multi-effect delay pedals on the market that all do variations of the same delays... AND they all have upgradable firmware. If you consider how the Timefactor has changed since it was released... you can only imagine where the Timeline could go... and how Eventide will take countermeasures with the Timefactor.
I'm going to hold onto my Timefactor for now. The Timeline sounds amazing... But it's just too soon to be able to make an informed decision about which advantage(s) one holds over the other.

I'm using the Timeline with a Power All, daisy chained with 10 other pedals... no problems...
It should be noted, of course, that I did do the math, and total power consumption on my board is (about) 650mA... 1350mA less than the Power All has to offer. So yeah, much to spare, and no ground loops or digital regulator noise...yet.
I'll report if I have any problems, but so far, nothing's blown up or failed to operate according to specs.

DOOD. The naming of presets is like the only thing missing to complete the Timeline!
Good idea, and why didn't I think of that?! I have one of these Kill A Watt meters... time to test the PS45 board to check on loads.
