The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

I absolutely love everything X Series (starting to outweigh my love for 6N21B), but I'm going to be super excited when people start ordering these things.

OMG I'm so happy I've got a placeholder for one of these. It looks amazing. Don't shoot me...but would you entertain making this raw enclosure look an option? (ducks for cover)

The OCD in me wants those vent grills to all be pointing down towards the middle of the pedal (like the right side, so flip the direction of the left side) to imply the DEEP ness. < that's not a request btw just jabbering out loud

That looks awesome Nathan. And I agree with benjo, I dig the naked look too as an option.

The “ naked look “ has great potential as is but could also be toned a bit ala the way the Night Owl Edison ‘s sometimes are if that’s not too much copy catting ? As for the slots - my vote goes for the right side slots to be a mirror image of the left side but the only thing that truly matters is how it sounds in use . The rest of the look etc is just fluff and really not terribly consequential in my view . That said I am not a true pedal hound like many here so take my opinion with a large grain of salt ! ..... Deep Dish looks awesome! Raw look is great too on that one.

( I like the vents the way they are)

I also think the vents look badass the way they are as well, but if I were to choose, I'd flip the right vent so both point UP in the middle! lol

+1, also glad I have a placeholder!

5sg.

Alright, it's time to settle this once and for all. Anyone that uses an LA-1A have any favorite settings for me to try while I'm A/B-ing them?

For subtle smoothing and coloration goodness.

Peak Reduction 8:30
Gain Set as needed for output volume
Attack 9:00
Knee noon

So I would absolutely entertain the raw look. This is actually UV printed over the raw enclosure with a clear powdercoat over it to protect the print. It's way easier than trying to get colors on evenly, so it's less work than any other finish on my side.

As for the vents I've had a couple people mention flipping one for symmetry, but personally I prefer the translational symmetry of this one over reflectional symmetry ;)

So the Deep Dish is your take on a LA-1A compressor? It looks great!
That is correct :) When I dropped to two tubes I was planning to tear up the preamp section and start over, but I found one small thing that fixed all the issues I was having with their preamp, so despite having two tubes instead of three the Deep Dish preamp is more similar to the LA-1A preamp than I had planned :)

I'm hoping to get some info together today so I can get a product page up on the website for it, and I will absolutely get some recordings with the settings everyone is calling out. I've been using them to A/B between this and LA-1A but haven't made any recordings yet.

 Translational or reflectional is absolutely fine. Again, not a request. It looks amazing as is. And yeah, the raw look, for me anyway, is really resonating. I'd do all of my Jan spot pedals like this if I could...

Thanks for all your hard work. Can't wait to hear the recordings of the Deep Dish.

You absolutely can, as I said that saves me work! :D

Just added a new option to the add-on shop, for color changes and changing from one build to another at the same price (PA to Slampegg, etc) you will no longer contact me directly, you just use the "Existing Order Change" option. It will ask you for your order number and a description of the change you want to make. This makes everything easier to keep track of on my end.

So if anyone wants a raw finish+printing+clearcoat enclosure, this is the best way to let me know ;)
