Will there be any sound demos for it? Is it based off of any existing fuzz pedals? Or is it a full-on "trick or treat" scenario with regards to sound?

The Sashimi Fuss is a nice sounding pedal.
I might even buy a fully built pedal for once for that sound.

There certainly will be, I'll be ordering the finalized version of the circuit board tonight and I hope to have a production version of the pedal built up by the end of the month so I can do a demo. It's using germanium transistors, so some parallels can be drawn to fuzzface, tonebender, etc., but it wasn't designed to sound anything like those. It was just designed to sound good.
Sashimi Fuzz was a direct copy of the Effectrode Mercury with the tube swapped for a 12AX7, I don't have any plans to bring it back.If it was a reissue of the Sashimi Fuzz it would be quite the treat for me
I will say that I like this a lot better though, frankly I always considered the Mercury to be more of a distortion pedal than what I would consider a fuzz.
I know, but just FYI I think the sound *in general* was very good, and if you decide to offer another distortion/overdrive pedal in the future, maybe a revisit would be worth looking into. Just a thought.

@Sushi Box FX I respect your choice to move forward with original designs as well as providing niche products inspired by classic amps in a format not otherwise available. I also appreciate your openness to input from your customers about the features we value most as well as your commitment to keep your products affordable.

Yeah I'd rather an effects loop I can put a cab sim into (or other effects for that matter), that why I love the ua and finally combo, being able to put things in the middle of the pair is really handy.
Isn't that the point of a fuzz?

Morning all. I have a question for the gallery regarding a curious issue I'm experiencing with one of my MORE pedals.
I bought an advertised-mint MORE from Reverb back in July, and the transaction and all of my experience with the pedal thus far has been great. I recently mounted it on my pedalboard after using it as a standalone box with my amps, and that's where one of my issues seems to have arisen. I don't see a way to date the pedal from the chassis or original box, which I still have.
I'm using a single OneSpot just for the pedal, but have several other power supplies plugged into a single multi outlet grounded power strip (not using a powered pedalboard). In my last few sessions I noticed a random, weird 'squeal' or 'whistle' that sounds like a jet airplane landing or taking off (best description I can think of). It comes and goes, and doesn't seem to have any consistency in when it shows up. I run the 'gain' at 1 o'clock, so I'm not pushing it to any major degree at all.
Next, if I manipulate the plug end into the pedal while the noise is occurring, rotating it, the 'whistle' will change in sound.... almost like a vintage transistor radio being tuned.
If I turn the pedal OFF, the noise goes away, but when I turn it back on, it's often still there..... before disappearing again.
I tried multiple different One Spots with the same result. I tried plugging the OneSpot straight into the same wall outlet where the power strip is plugged in.... same deal. BUT - when I took the pedal off the board and plugged it and the OneSpot into a totally different strip, in the same outlet as my amp (on the other side of the room), it doesn't seem to happen at all.
As a third variable, I recently got a brand-new MORE from Nathan in the last couple of weeks (which was going to use as my standalone box with my amps versus the pedalboard mounted one). When I put THAT one on my pedalboard, using one of the same previously tested OneSpots....... no noise. No discernible issues. Also - the older pedal does transmit some rumble/noise when the chassis is tapped on. The new one doesn't. The power connector jack on the older one sticks out from the chassis, whereas the new one is fully recessed.
So - am I dealing with bad tubes, or ones that are super sensitive to noise/voltage and have possibly gone microphonic already? I've tested every variable I can think of, and having another MORE to directly A/B makes me think it might be the tubes? Thanks for any and all insight or additional troubleshooting you can think of.

That indicates you have a tube going microphonic. A microphonic tube isn't necessarily a failing tube, but it can be an indication that other problems you're seeing could be caused by a tube going bad.
The current version (July 2024 onward) has recessed power jacks, everything prior will have the "outie" jacks.

Thanks Nathan. I appreciate it. Where would you suggest as the best place to order replacement tubes? All I have sitting around are 12AX7s and the MORE uses a 12AU7 and a 12AT7, right?
You can use 12AX7 in place of either tube on More for testing purposes to verify that it will fix the issue, this will not hurt anything. Using 12AX7 in place of the 12AU7 will give a higher output volume, and using 12AX7 in place of the 12AT7 will just give a slightly higher output impedance.
I've had very good experiences with Tube Depot. Unlike some distributors they actually test their tubes before selling them (a novel idea for sure), they have a large selection, and their customer service is great.
