Not likely. I'm tossing around the idea of doing one on the SBVT II because Ampeg did it on their SVT-Pre so I get that "anything-you-can-do-I-can-do-better" nag in my brain.
An fx loop on it as well and it will crush the Ampeg SGT, people seem to love the pedal but hate it not having a loop to be able to place effects after the pre/before the cab sim. Either way it will make Xmas/Birthday list when it comes out. I loved the SBVT, an amp in box SBVT II would be a lot of fun!!
I’m GASing a PF50T, but the hum issue is a cold shower, and I’m wondering if the Grand Slampegg directly into my class D poweramp wouldn’t be a better (and much more powerful) alternative.
I got my PF50T when the UK distributor was doing the mod before they were shipped to the retailers, some earlier ones didn't have it. Luckily mine is quiet.
For comparison, I played the PF50T using the transformer DI out into a baby sumo and SVT2x12 (this is a killer rig), the SBVT, Sansamp, SGT DI and tons more besides into the same amp and cab and whilst the 50T is obviously the clear winner the SBVT was my favourite pedal by far and only sold it on as i went in a completely different direction. However I do have plans to build a micro rig around an SBVT II once I've completed my current rig build. As long as it slams (it will) and has a DI and amp out then it will do everything I'll need.
The Furthermore also sounds like a real tempter as well!
I'm currently sandwiching my HX Stomp between a Space Heater (I really must get round to rolling in a 12ATX7 one day soon!) and More, kinda my take on an amp on box, into a baby sumo and SVT2x12 it sounds amazing and definitely can give the PF50T a run for it's money. There's a gonna be a bit more on that board one it's finished.
Speaking of amps in a box: @Sushi Box FX how far down the development road make is the Fire Box these days? Would you ever consider making a very low wattage tube bass tube amp?
I'm liking the look of the Night Owl FMJ, but it's EL84 isn't my favourite power tube!
