I’ve been on the hunt for a Neptunium for a bit and have had no luck.
I suppose the Neptunium would need a slightly wider enclosure for a C2CE edition with through-hole components, so it would be not quite as pedalboard-friendly.

Yes, let's let the Chef finish SBVT II and the Cascade Chorus first, then build more Neptuniums.
Comp knob all the way down/counter clockwise means it is a fast release. So fast attack release really pops the attack of the notes. I do run a compressor at the end of my board too and they both work a treat.
Thanks for clarifying— I wasn’t sure that it had been established what the knobs actually do. I also noted how blend, sensitivity and attack were set and just wanted to put out there (given it’s not clear how much the compressor will compress at any settings) that this doesn’t seem to be designed to be a “transparent” pedal and it may/should have an impact on the tone even if the compressor isn’t triggered.
I really feel for Nathan on this Neptunium request. He has always said he wants to make people happy, and yet has also made it clear he has no interest in reviving the Neptunium and prefers to focus on all the cool pedals he has in his pipeline.
As someone who passed on the first batch (I had just bought one of the limited Nobeliums and already have a Finally) I do sometimes wish I had one for the smaller form factor. Also, the current unobtanium nature of the pedal has me gas’ing for one to add to my Sushi collection.
That said, I for one think we all need to give Nathan some space on this and stop contributing to any potential distress these constant requests are causing him.

I concur. Easier for me to say as a Neptunium owner. But if I didn't have a Neptunium I'd also be perfect happy purchasing a Nobelium/C2CE Built up by someone.
I do covet the Neptunium's form factor but I just tell myself that my Nobelium has another tube entirely for the DI. I get two tubes in this box. Bigger than a Neptunium, smaller than a Noble, & like the Neptunium, sonically somewhere in the ballpark of the Noble. Personally, I'm good.
I like the neptunium , but for practical purposes the finally is just as good if you don’t need the EQ. The finally has a little more character going for it, which is nice.
I have the Neptunium and a Finally V2 and did some testing a few months ago. Both were going from 1/4" out into a Simplifier with the blend at 50%, phase inverted, Neptunium EQ at 0 and Finally gain to about 50% (I think). I heard almost no sound coming through, so I've been assuming they're the same circuit if you remove the EQ.
I thought about it, but you're exactly right, Neptunium would have to go into a bigger box if I were to do it C2C style. I could probably fit it into a 1590BB so it would be a similar setup to Venus Z, so it would be smaller than Nobelium, but not by much.
They're not wildly different, but they're not not exactly the same circuit either.
For things like this I really like talking to my wife, because she's not an engineer or a musician, so I can get unbiased opinions from someone who is not completely removed from the situation but definitely less emotionally involved than me. She asked how many other projects I have in development, and I told her. She asked how many of them are similar in operation (D.I., preamp) and I told her. She then asked how many people have expressed interest in another run, and I told her. She said she thinks I should do it, but not until I've cleared a couple things off my plate. So we agreed I should finish up a couple things and then revisit the discussion. And I felt pretty good about that conversation. So I guess it's turning from a "no" into a "maybe"?
Nathan, not to sway your "maybe" one way or the other, but the Neptunium is a great pedal!
