The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

If it turns out to be a Trace Elliot preamp, I am going to lose my s#!t because:
1. I'm the one that threw that out there a while back, and
2. I'd be upset that it's red instead of green, and
3. I would absolutely have to buy one (and I'm trying not to have any frivolous purchases right now) 😅
Well I have some good news for you then.

Maybe the April fools joke is that it’s solid state, with no tubes? Trace Elliot?
That would be a pretty good joke, but the number of emails I had to reply to last time asking why I stopped using tubes was enough to put me off from that.

Just to clarify: That's a rare exception within your preamp pedals then, right?
Yup, it sometimes gets a bit convoluted, but the names of my preamps always have some connection to what they are and/or what they are based on.

PMLE is literally just "this is a funny name, I want to use it for something".

I just ordered finally. V3.

Lord knows I don’t need it, I just wanted it. lol

Guess I will be doing a shootout?

I'm guessing your existing Finally has a 12AX7 in it based on how low you have the Gain set...
You know, you could always just put a 12AY7 or 12AU7 in your old one instead?
(Unless you've just been dying to play with the variable HPF ;))

Used the Finally v2 on tour last night. I really liked how it sounded through my IEMs and also on the recording of our IEM rack.
A couple friends of mine, who are also professional musicians, attended the show and they said the bass sounded great up front, too.

I just uploaded a YT video about this. You can watch it here

On one hand I'm glad I don't have an unexpected automatic purchase to make on April 1st...
Or it,s good news because Nathan has sorted out international import duties?
Ok, it’s April fools; it’s not red but it’s red.

It’s a TC Electronic preamp!
My money is it's clone of the Mooer Green Mile with a tube! It's what the world has been waiting for

Yes it does, a NOS Raytheon 12AX7, and it sounds phenomenal. I have some NOS Telefunken 12AU and AT7’s, but thought it sounded good as is.

And you’re right on the money, I want to check out the HPF, that is a very cool and needed feature for me.

I just happened to be A/B ing the Neptunium and finally. V1 and realized how good the V1 finally sounded. So bam! Impulse buy finally. V3!!

This is Talkbass, the GAS is strong.

Sweet video, I love your playing! And you have great taste in Basses.

If you Google PMLE it comes up with : Polymorphous light eruption is a rash caused by sun exposure in people who have developed sensitivity to sunlight.
I wonder if I have that rash because I'm getting a real itch to buy a PMLE pedal, and we don't even know what it is yet.

Sounded great.

With the wires and glowing gaffer tape, it looked like they had set up an Ivan containment zone on stage. :roflmao:

I do NOT need another sushi box pedal but if were a Trace Elliot preamp, it would be an instant buy from me.

I mean the V# series of amps are pretty popular among the TB crowd it seems. Wouldn't be so surprising.

I'll just sit in the patiently on the sidelines waiting until a Sunn 200S preamp makes the cut.

I just came here to post this and of course @IvanBassist beat me to it (as he should). Great work all around!
