My used pedals typically end up on the Conspiracy to Commit Electronics reverb shop, there will be a couple more of those up soon, now that you mention it.OR any of your “used” pedals…
Well my accountant informed me that you all bought too many pedals last year, and it looks like I'm going to end up paying more taxes than I had expected. So I may have a bass going up for sale soon
How much for the Jazz bass with the onboard tube preamp?

Nope, I specifically wanted to avoid that. It uses a giant rechargeable battery pack under a magnetically attached cover in the back. The whole build thread is here. I'll get more pictures and some sound clips up if I do decide to sell it, I'll probably take the weekend to think about it.
When I was young and working I loved paying taxes, if I could I would pay a Million dollars in tax each year, just imagine how much would land in your wallet if you earned enough to pay a million dollars in tax.
I guess I have always been a glass half full type of person.
If you eat a great big steak dinner every day you will have to go to the crapper more often is all.
And that was kind of the stance I tried to take in discussing it with my wife. She was saying I should have tried to find more deductions (I wrote off everything I could), and I specifically used the words "sorry Sushi Box was so profitable last year." I didn't have to pay much taxes for 2023, but frankly sales in 2024 were almost triple what they were in 2024, so in the long run I think it's a good thing. Just need to plan better in the future.
My dad had the same mindset. Paying taxes was good because it meant you made a lot of money. Getting a tax return is like giving a free loan to the government.
Can I just say - with the exception of the first bass I owned (a guitar scale length 'Satellite' bass that was basically their cheapest guitar but with bass strings on it) I have regretted selling every bass I've owned. Particularly a 1980 US Fender Jazz and a 1985 PRS Bass - which turned out to be the second one they ever made (when the person buying it checked the validity of the serial number).
I believe children fetch a good price on the open market nowadays - there's always that option.....
Interestingly I've only regretted selling one bass, but that was only temporary regret as I now own a step-up model of the same bass and I love it even more. I've played a lot of basses I really liked, but the ones I always find myself enamored with are Ibanez basses, and of the 4 basses I own this is the only non-Ibanez, so it gets the least play time. It's a great conversation piece and people like seeing it and trying it, and if I were to gig regularly I would probably use it as a cool onstage attention-getter, but it's never been the first bass I grab when I want to just sit down and play.
Soooo..... what sort of Lambo are you getting for a company car next year ?
Edit: I wonder how many "PMLE special tax run pedals" it would take to pay the tax man off.

I know Nathan is not going to make the UA available as a PCB in the C2CE shop but I would certainly buy a copy of the older flat PCB that went into the Bass guitar, even though I most likely would never mount one in a guitar myself. ( I would still have to make one )
It made me think of the PCB's I saw in the Silicon Chip magazine where they made the pick guard up of a SMD PCB with all the components on the inside and a neat pattern on the outside.
What is the low end like on the lab rat for bass?? I've seen one for sale and love my rat clone (Jam Rattler Bass) Very intrigued!
Has anyone done a serious comparison between the Neptunium and Noble? Is there any appreciable difference between the two in a live mix? I’d love to hear any comparisons or reviews if anyone knows of one out there. Thanks!

I asked Eddie to build a bass version of the Karen when I saw it posted on Reverb. It’s called the Ken. The Tone is stacked bass and treble, and “Clean Up That Tone” is a stacked clean blend and LPF for the blend. As far as I know it’s the first bass version of the Karen.
Sorry, I could have sworn I replied to this and it looks like I didn't post it. It depends on which version it is; if it's one of the earlier ones with two footswitches and the clean boost, then it's not great for bass and shaves off a fair bit of low end. If it's one of the later ones that doesn't have the boost but does have a baxandall (treble/bass) EQ then it was in fact designed for bass and has a much thicker low end.
