The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

Just saw this youtube premiere link for Thursday - comparing the Neptunium to the Noble:

Hey thanks!

As Nathan said, the no talking version is out now.

Important thing to me is people get a chance to decide what they think for themselves without having to listen to me ramble. 😊

Why does the bass sound fuzzy in that video? Is it the bass? String buzz? Is the bass hitting the Nobel/Neptunium with enough signal to drive it?

I can play my bass through a Finally with a 12ax7 with decent gain and it doesn’t sound fuzzy like that.
My phone speaker certainly didn't like the low end of the bass, but through headphones and speakers I'm not hearing any fuzz.

I agree until I think about all the people that will listen to the music you make on their phones!
It doesn't matter how many do it....the toilet paper analogy still "rings" true to my ears, LOL. The heavy leaning of current society into "crappy/fast/easy" as opposed to "slow/thorough/accurate" is a major drag IMHO. Itizwutitiz tho.

No fuzz on my end! 😊

I do have a fair amount of string buzz though. I selected this bass because I think the excitement in the high end helps contrast the units as opposed to a darker instrument without it.
Yeah i didn't hear any fuzz, but plenty of string rasp. That bass sounds very nice :)

Cool demo. Look forward to full one.

I'm really glad i didn't pulled the plug on a Noble a couple of year back, when i had GAS for one, (it aught have actually arrived by now), I might pick up the NP on the next batch but it will be driven by FOMO rather than need!

On the the hand my Grand Slampegg GAS does need satisfying soon!

It was very buzzy to me, too. If my bass sounded like that, I wouldn't be a happy camper at all. Then again, I'm old and came up playing double bass... ;

Consensus seems to be phone speakers suck and I agree. I’m working from home office today and my earbuds are at work. I have a cheap 10 pa speaker with Bluetooth I will use at home but my daughter is home sick and I don’t want to bother her. So I’m stuck listening to phone music all day.

That's why I have a few other basses where my action is preeeeeeetty up there. This is my rock n roll bass. I felt that the high end of this bass helped highlight their differences.

Sounded fine to me through both my phone and earbuds...I think the string rasp did a good job of highlighting what was going on.

1. This confirms how amazing it is what Nathan has done at this price point that it’s so close.

2. You really hear the difference the when bass and treble are both set at 100%. The Noble has a much wider Q on its bass control. It sounds very bass heavy while the Neptunium is more balanced with a controlled resonance peak in the low frequencies. There’s also more compression happening on the Noble. You can hear this when Carson digs in on each. Subtle but there.

3. I would love to hear Jack’s thoughts at Noble.
