The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

Finishing up printing tonight, I'm on track to have EVERYTHING shipped out by the end of the week. But I wanted to let everyone know that @kranahan has the most attractive pedals this month. My UV printing skills still aren't perfect, but I made some noticeable improvements today.

Soooo I'm hoping you did get my email 12/31/20 about changes, but if not, I'm not a boat-rocker. More of a gravy boat dipper

I'll PM you.

Just wanted to clarify something. When ordering an X pedal, the tube choices are 'none' and 'JJ/Tesla'.

If 'none' is specified, does that literally mean there is no tube at all and the user will need to install a tube before the pedal will work?
Yup, that is correct. Most people so far have just been getting the JJ tube even if they're planning to roll tubes, but I've had a handful order without a tube,

I just ordered the London Underground and Dr. Wattson pedals with the full color artwork. I haven't been able to find any examples of those yet, but I'm guessing they will look very cool. I was hoping for an orange LED option for the LU pedal, but red should do quite nicely!

I'm going to try to get examples of the color artwork together as soon as I'm finished with the January builds so people will know what they're getting, I have concepts for all of them I just need to organize them and get them printed.

I've been purposefully avoiding orange LEDs because I know some companies use orange LEDs to either hide the fact that their tube is doing nothing or overemphasize the tube glow that isn't really there. I try to stick with unnatural LED colors because these tubes are actually doing something, every tube pedal I make (besides Lab Rat) is 100% tube signal path, your audio will never touch a solid-state device.

That being said I should probably admit I've had a couple special requests for orange LEDs and have accommodated them, so I do have orange LEDs on hand :P

I'm still trying to decide between the Westinghouse and Space Heater. I'm highly intrigued by the Westinghouse and have plenty of other drive options on my board, but the Space Heater seems like it might be a little more functional for an overall sound (aka more noticeable difference in sound with some actual gain).

I forget... Was the Westinghouse ready for January orders, and did anyone order one that could provide some thoughts on it?

Good to know, but I don't think EF86 has nearly as many aftermarket options as 12A*7 tubes.

Unfortunately true. At $20 for a new JJ or Sovtek EF86 it's often cheaper to find NOS options though. I think I paid about $10 for the NOS German EF86 that's in mine.

Westinghouse won't be available until March. I try to give myself a month or two to get logistics figured out when I have a new design. If you're looking for less subtle and more dramatic change, Space Heater is probably the direction you'll want to go.

What comes stock in the Westinghouse?
Svetlana 6J32P, they're the Russian equivalent of EF86 and the same tube Night Owl uses in the Edison.
