I tried out a new clear powder this month, "Rockstar Sparkle." The sparkles are a lot bigger than the other ones I've used, so I like that they're easy to see, but I also think they might be too big. Mixed feelings.

Fixed the voltage labels on these two though, so that's neat.

Are the sparkles seen here as the large white flecks, particularly easy to see on the WH? Are you definitely using this new finish for production?

Big sparkles suit the Space Heater very well - they look like stars in the night sky ! On the WH they look like dust specks to me so not as good a fit . Other folks no doubt will see things differently but I’d rather have the big sparkle look be an option rather than the standard finish ..... Kelly

Me in March: "Only one order for a Black Eye X this month, I better build an extra just in case."

Me in April: "No orders for Black Eye X this month. I guess I don't have one with the plain artwork yet."

Yeah, I have three Black Eye X's now.

I’ve decided that I’m not worthy of such a pedal yet. My lead playing ain’t up to snuff. King Nothing, on the contrary....

It's not going to be a "go-to" finish by any means, but it is on a handful of boxes for this month, may not use it again. I like clearcoats that aren't just clearcoats, something with a little more character, but I don't plan on letting people choose their clearcoat, it will be whatever I have handy for the month.

I agree, but it's also hard to gauge in pictures because part of the appeal of the sparkles is how different they look in the light, so looking at an unmoving picture of them at one angle looks less exciting than seeing the light catch them in different ways in person.

I'll be honest. I want one just simply because I have a handful of Soldano branded tubes left over that I pulled from my Soldano amps back in the 90's. But I don't think any of my power supplies would power it

It's only on one SH, don't think it's yours. I did a handful of boxes and didn't love it so switched to a different powder for the rest. I'm thinking about trying one of my more subtle sparkle clears over the top of one of these to see if it tones down the look a bit.

Let me be honest here, if it's not mine I'd be happier, at leat from how it appears here on the stationary page.

But if it is, never mind. Like many folk, I got 99 problems at the moment and on a scale of relative importance I won't let sparkle be one.

You know that's not fair for me to say because I forgot that you can get the current doubling cables and combine two 500ma outputs to power it.

This one turned out neat, may be of special interest to those that also play 6-string soprano bass (or those that like heavier grit on their bass). JC Emerald is my take on the JCM800 preamp, I did it a year or so ago with 6N21B but it had too many problems so I never really released it. The X version is a huge improvement.

Does this do high gain or at least enough to handle heavy metal? My band are running a mxr evh 5150 overdrive boosted with a tube screamer on the guitar boards atm but I wouldn't mind getting abit more tube warmth and marshall voicing on them we went from running a Marshall jcm2000 tsl100 and Marshall jvm 210 fullstacks live to using pedal board based rigs and it isn't bad but I still miss abit of the warmth from them tubes

Depends on your definition of high gain, it gets pretty chunky. I'm planning to sit down and get some demos of the newer pedals sometime this week so you can hear them.
