Yup, that was the intention. I can't find a good way to make a knob work without getting really weird, so I think this is the only variable voltage method I'm comfortable with.
I expect it would work just fine, but I doubt it would affect the power supply whine as the power supply will still switch at the same frequency.
That makes sense. So hypothetically you could set up a dip switch system like on cioks power supplies where you could get four voltage options from two dip switches? I'm asking because in the short time I played mine I liked the voltage knob backed off a bit from max
I mean in theory, but frankly I don't want to add more features. You could let me know what position you like it at, I can figure out what voltage that is, and I could modify your unit to make that the maximum voltage, but I think a single LV/HV switch is as complex as I'm willing to make it.
Mine is only whining at less than 12 O Clock. I ran it at full voltage at first but now about 3/4. Have only had it a few days though.
agree. After about noon I can’t hear it anymore. I haven’t had a ton of time with the Westinghouse yet but bolt around 3/4 was where I seemed to dig it.

1st: is there a way to replace the volume control with a automatic feedback controlled loop unity control, somewhat like a buffer. What I have in mind is the space heater with only one knob (gain) and unity output even if you change gain.
2nd : is there a way to have a 2 channel unit, with (the 1st question) two gain controls and a switch to go from channel 1 to channel 2, to change gain with the push of a button?

1st: nope, you'd be taking a dirt simple circuit and adding a considerable complication to it. Not a trivial task and not something I'd be interested in doing.
2nd: yup, but toggle switch or footswitch is easier than button.
So I finally got to put my deep dish compressor thru its paces tonight and I love it. I do have a quick question about the peak reduction tho it seems very touchy and engages very heavy at about 3 notches in is this by design or is it not functioning properly? I'm still getting used to dialing it in and gain staging with my other pedals but I can already tell its exactly the sound I was missing and looking for on my board.
Frankly I noticed that as well, and I still am wondering if a different value for that pot would be useful. So it's functioning as designed and the same way as the LA-1A, but I agree it's a little sensitive toward the beginning of the sweep.

I figured that was the case and I do really love how it is sounding. Both of my guitarist noticed it instantly and commented on it sounding thicker and warmer I suppose my new Bartolini B-axis pickups in my warwick didn't hurt it either tho that combination is the sound I've been hunting for for quite some time. Oh and my initial concern of a added noise floor is gone my setup is less noisy now then even when I used the Darkglass Hyper Luminal compressor that I had replaced my original Ehx Black Finger tube compressor with. The only minor downsides I can see with it atm is the aggressive peak reduction, it is power hungry and I had to use a sepperate courtesy plug with a one spot power adapter (this still is a vast improvement over the Ehx bulky proprietary supply), maybe it could benefit with having abit faster attack and release times, and the led meter starting on line 2 but these are just minor gripes overall I don't think I've seen anything else on the market even come close.
If you have a Westinghouse in the April batch right now you're about to receive an email asking what you want to do about it. If you ignore the email then I will proceed with building your Westinghouse with a switch for the voltage control instead of a knob. If it's a dealbreaker and you really wanted the knob, please reply to the email and let me know, I will either give you a full refund or figure something else out for you.

I tried out a new clear powder this month, "Rockstar Sparkle." The sparkles are a lot bigger than the other ones I've used, so I like that they're easy to see, but I also think they might be too big. Mixed feelings.

Love it. Don't think they are too big: in general you look at the pedal from a certain distance (about your size), so you shouldn't zoom to compare.
