The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

i snatched that ambassador off reverb. tried it out today with my bass. i dig it (shocker i know). i also recent picked up one of those blue submarine preamp pedals and was running the ambassador into it. definitely cool tones. probably going to let my guitar player try it out as well. he’s really into robert cray who i guess uses matchless amps

I absolutely love my Southampton Submarine. It’s been my tone shaper for the past few years. But That’s what rad about what Mr. @Sushi Box FX is doing. All these different preamps offer so much flexibility for recording for me. I think I’m gonna order the London Underground here shortly. I want it so orange that it couldn’t get any more orange.

Sorry if it's been mentioned, but I got a question.

A number of the pedals are based on various amps, with a master volume and gain.

With the gain cranked, and using the master volume, can you get a driven tube amp tone without the output needed to achieve such tone?

Oh absolutely, that's why I add master volumes on preamps that don't normally have them. All of my preamps have an all-tube signal path, so cranking the gain and keeping the master volume down will give you saturated tube tone without blowing up your speakers.

I recorded some demos of Dr. Wattson today, I'll get them posted on the website today or tomorrow so you can get a listen. It definitely gets pretty dirty with the gain cranked.

Nathan just ordered Illusion Orange color, you can see it a few of his posts back. I think that'll get you close, but might have to go 3rd party for crazy-orange knobs. LMS's orange knob isn't very orange-ish.

I was initially only interested in the lab rat pedal.
But after more reading, Señor Sushi's contributions, and the repeated mention of the PA, it sounds like it's another pedal I should investigate.

Not that I’m trying to jump the gun or anything, but a version of the dr Wattson that is based on John Entwistle’s Hiwatt would be something interesting. It doesn’t have a mid control, and had a few other differences than the dr103. His tone is awesome

That's what I was wondering about the Dr Wattson.
Getting an Entwistle tone (Leeds) would be awesome.
