Hey, look what happened:

Sounds really great. Brittle highs if the treble is boosted, really thick when the bottom is boosted. It works like a JCM-800 face. Digging it with a guitar. OK, OK, I also played bass for 5 minutes just to see how it sounds and I could absolutely get some good grit with no loss of lows that is dirty but clear. Gonna spend some time on this.

It’s kinda badass and sounds great with bass, I played a P through it for a while this evening. It’s clean up to about 10:00 gain when you dig and breaks up smoothly by 11. With a guitar it gets dirty sooner which I’d expect. Would recommend. I played a Tele HH through it and could not find a bad setting. If your guitarist likes Plexi classic sound that’s it. The 2 tubes just whip it.

For the first time in a while I don’t have any pedals on order from anyone.

Pretty sure you need a Black Eye X. I had a local musician come over the other day to try out a few preamps, and he was blown away by the Black Eye X. "Why aren't you advertising this one???"

I mean it's on the website, but apparently I don't emphasize enough how absolutely amazing it is. It only has 3 knobs, but it's damn near impossible to find a bad setting on it. It won't really get clean unless you roll the volume back on your instrument, but it leaves nothing to be desired for dirt. Black Eye has been my go-to dirt pedal for 2 years now (if you count the mini and X version together), which beats my previous record for amount of time a pedal has been on my board by a lot. I know everyone's tastes are different, but I doubt I will ever find a pedal I like more than Black Eye. Yet somehow in all my time building I've sold a total of 4 Black Eyes. @Sonicblaze has one on the way, looking forward to hearing what he thinks.

Also red LEDs were an excellent choice for your WBX, that thing looks downright evil in a dark room.

He has a bona fide JCM 800 that he rarely gets to crank and the JC Emerald just made him smile imagining the crunch after playing through my Particle Accelerator.

Second evening of playing with my new Space Heater. Beautiful pedal and very tubey with great break up. Excellent!

I have it at 9v. If I want to run the Gain at a decent level for the breakup i.e. at around 1 or 2 o'clock, I have to put the level right down low at around 8 o'clocck and tiny movements send up the volume. But I was a DJ for many years so I'm used to making tiny movements to controls, you know that DJ technique of touching controls so lightly it looks like they must be burning your fingers...

Basically, SH is a glorious and simple 'tube in a box' pedal and sounds wonderful. One more pic you say? Ok, last one...

Yet somehow in all my time building I've sold a total of 4 Black Eyes. @Sonicblaze has one on the way, looking forward to hearing what he thinks.

I'm extremely surprised by the BEX. I had always put it in the "Too much distortion" catagory for the simple stuff I play (contemporary worship).

And it can sure get there: gain past 10-o-clock is probably more than I'd ever use.

However with gain all the way off, it works as a pretty clean tubey boost. I can get to about 10 on the Gian knob before it gets too dirty for my worship music, but anything up to there I can totally incorporate. And while gain starts at ~6, there's a surprising amount of character between that and 10 (max is 5).

Tldr; buy one in August, it's awesome. I think it's going to take the place of my DrWattX.

So I've been working on getting the in-stock pedals put together and tonight I realized I don't have enough 1/4" jacks for everything I was planning to do. So I'm going to cut it short for now and get the pedals posted tomorrow (wednesday) evening at 8pm central time. I'll send out an email letting everyone know as well.

The things that will definitely be up there tomorrow (exclusive TalkBass information here):

• Westinghouse, new version with voltage switch, full color artwork (two of these)
• Westinghouse, new version with voltage switch, full color over white powdercoat
• Westinghouse, old version with voltage knob but range limited to 80-240V so no whine, full color artwork
• Robot Butterfly, side jacks, metallic black with laser engraved artwork
• Echosaurus, side jacks, candy blue with laser engraved artwork

Hey @Sushi Box FX - since others are making suggestions ...

Have you ever thought about adding a parametric EQ to any of your pedals, something similar to the Fender TBP rack preamp?

I always add a parametric EQ of some sort to my board because fretless basses - they like a healthy bump around the 800 mark. Adding a parametric EQ to, say, a PAX or LUX would be .. well pretty much one of the most wonderful things. Would that me something to consider down the line? You could even market it as a fretless friendly pre.
