The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

On an unrelated note (but related to a previous comment) it looks like a couple people didn't get confirmation emails from the website but got a paypal receipt. If you didn't get a confirmation email and want to make sure I got your order, please let me know and I can look it up.
I guess I’m in the clear. Didn’t receive the confirmation email but you did verify my order already, correct?

I'm waffling on the Underground Accelerator! Paralysis of Analysis. I can afford it, and I'm sure it will find it's way on my pedalboard. I am really enjoying my homemade, aftermarket, SpaceHouse. My Birthday is in November, so I *could* get a September slot and call it a birthday present. Right now I'm really digging on a low mid 450-800hz boosted sound... So... hmmm.

So,
I messed around with pedal order WRT the SH.

Initially bought it to run first in line as a sort of dirty boost.

When I got it, I put it last in line to give to tubey goodness.

I tried it first, and well, meh.

Totally works best last in line, giving everything before it that "flavour"

Speaking of the SpaceHouse- I put an EH 12AT7 in the Spaceheater in place of the 12AX7. It has nice, full range tubey goodness, but without the breakup (you can go full clockwise and the thing still doesn't get much/any breakup). The interesting part is that it sounds VERY similar to my SWR SM-400s's tone with the aural enhancer backed all the way off.

I suppose those circuits may have the same conceptual ideas imparted into them.

But I think it's very cool that I can get that tone in a pedal and not have to carry around the 25lb amp!

Yup, I got yours.

I did not get a confirmation email from Sushi Box but did from PayPal. The transaction number is 5VK17993PP058622V.
I have yours as well, your order number is 10377.

Just for fun I decided to count how many preamps I'm up to in my collection. Just my personal stash, not for sale or being built for someone else:

56 total pedals, 32 of which are tube preamps. It doesn't seem like a big deal until you count and actually put a number on it :P

Got a call for a sub, looks like Sushibox is going to make it's Bourbon St. premier tonight :)

I just realized I need to keep an eye on and possibly limit Echosaurus and Robot Butterfly orders, there's still a big semiconductor shortage and the chip that powers those two has a 72-week lead time. I still have enough stock to do a handful, but I want to make sure I don't run out.

Looks like one slot left for August by the way.

Hey everyone, today marks the start of my actual vacation (everything before has been a fake vacation), so I'm going to be on here a little less than usual. I'll still be around at least a couple times a day, and I'll still have access to email so I will still be answering questions as they come up, but responses will he a little slower than usual, especially over the next couple days as I'll be driving a bunch.

Also, not that this has ever been an issue, if anyone shows up to my house unannounced to to talk about pedals, you'll find some confused people that literally don't know what pedals are, as my sister-in-law's knowledge of gear is extremely limited.

Hey Senor - A vacation is a time to relax , refresh and reload . No need to be on here unless it is something urgent . You will not be forgotten . We all can carry on the Sushi torch while you are away . I believe the slogan is “ absence makes the heart grow fonder “ and not getting distracted while taking it really easy can be a wonderful recipe for creativity ..... Kelly

I know there was talk of this at one point, I’ve been scrolling through trying to find it but did anyone ever figure out the different mid eq settings on the SBVT?
I said I would do the math and I totally forgot, remind me in a couple weeks. There's plenty of things I'm willing to do on vacation, math is not one of them :P

So I saw a pic of an older SB pedal called the ambassador.

I think I asked before, but forgot.

Señor Sushi,
What circuit was this based on?
Matchless Hotbox III. I'm thinking about building a 12AX7 version for myself as I always liked that tone, then I'll have to decide if I like it enough to offer it as a standard build.

I'm enjoying the vacation, taking a nice break after 8 hours in the car. Nothing like relaxing on my phone with random bassists to unwind ;)
