The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

@Sushi Box FX on the Smoke Signal are the two channels identical or are there different gain stages and tone voicings?
If there are differences how would you characterize them in comparison to your existing pedals?

BTW I would like to see your take on the Bassman 2 band channel one day. There is a lot of magic there just like in the Slampegg.
The two channels are set up differently, one is definitely a "clean" channel and the other is definitely a "drive" channel. The drive channel is 4 gainstages (like Sunnday Drive with the boost on, Black Eye, etc) and the clean channel is 2 gainstages (like all the single tube preamps).

I had a crazy idea. A tube version of the Aguilar Tone Hammer. Let’s call it the Tube Hammer.
Tube versions of solid state things always seem like a good idea in theory, but it ends up with something that either sounds nothing like the original device or it sounds worse than a tube device not based on anything. I've tried it a couple times.

Well I believe it was meant to go into a tube amp and drive the tubes to their limit...or make them 'scream'!
Allow me to correct you @mmbongo the Ibanez Tube Screamer was intended to mimic the sound of a driven tube circuit, most of the guitar amps of the 80s were solid state and getting that elusive tube sound was the thing. Overdrive pedals were already old hat and the TS was the next big thing. See the attached ad.

doesn't sashimi not have rice?
I've been told sashimi can be had with rice, but that the picture is in fact nigiri. I wasn't really thinking about the sashimi/sushi difference and just told the artist to do something sushi-related. He followed my directions :P

Thoughts? Artwork by the same artist that did Fluffy Kitten (which I promise will get a demo soon).

Was about to reply with 'sashimi doesn't come served with rice like that' but saw others had already stated the same. I personally don't like the added rice, the way the shrimp is drawn, the "Japanese-style" writing or the rising sun image. Probably just me, but you did ask for thoughts so there you go.
