The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

C'mon sushi... Why you gotta do this to me. What is this all about. What's the basis of each channel?! You're not helping me or my finances.
It is indeed my take on the Verellen Meatsmoke. Most preamps have similarities to other preamps, and interestingly this one is most similar to the Sunn Model T. Still has some differences, but that's what it looks like it's closest to.

Interesting. I always assumed it was more Fender Bassman at heart.
And it isn't identical to the Sunn, and also the Sunn has similarities to the Bassman :P there are very few preamps that are completely unique and different from old Fender stuff. Although Bogner does some interesting things I haven't seen anywhere else yet.

I'm working on final assembly for September now, but I got a little distracted tonight because I wanted to box this up. Still on the fence about my knob choice, the rationale was that the knobs would match the red and blue LEDs for the drive and clean channels.

Man, this looks fantastic and I bet it sounds better than it looks. Can't wait!!!

How's the development going? Trying to figure out when I get to send you more money :)

How will the Smoke Signal perform for bass? I saw on FB that you mentioned guitarists in the description of this pedal...
As Ken mentioned it sounds fabulous on bass, both channels have some really tasty useful tones on both guitar and bass. It's a very flexible pedal.

I think it's ready. I've been trying to think of reasons to delay releasing it, and I don't have any. I'm going to open it for October, since October still has most of the slots unfilled, but I'm going to have to limit the number I can do since I only have enough parts for 6 of them and some of the parts are long lead, so I don't want to risk having them be late.

Also I got the final artwork for Sashimi today, it just got a clear powdercoat and is in the oven curing right now. I don't think I have a problem opening that up for October either, so I may get that one put up tonight as well. We'll see how tech savvy I feel, or if I need @Sonicblaze to walk me through the website part.

Great news! I'll be keeping an eye out tonight, I def be ordering one.

Well there's been a bit of a delay with Sashimi. I really wanted a white background behind the artwork to make the colors pop, but I was feeling lazy and didn't want to powdercoat the whole box white. So I just set the printer to print a white background for the artwork, and it looked great...until I stuck it in the oven. For some reason the white UV ink doesn't like heating up, and it peeled away from the enclosure. So sanding, re-powdercoating, re-printing, and more powdercoating to get Sashimi fixed.

More wasabi. Needs more wasabi.

You really need a pedal named Wasabi.

It should be green and hot/spicy.

@Sushi Box FX on the Smoke Signal are the two channels identical or are there different gain stages and tone voicings?
If there are differences how would you characterize them in comparison to your existing pedals?

BTW I would like to see your take on the Bassman 2 band channel one day. There is a lot of magic there just like in the Slampegg.
