Perhaps this has been addressed before, but I can't begin to keep up with the threads in this subforum. Is there a plan for a DI box version of the Particle Accelerator and the Slampegg?

I don't think it's been explicitly addressed here, but it is something I'm considering for sure. I have a sales representative assigned to me to purchase D.I. transformers (though I haven't ordered yet
) and at the very least was planning to make a Particle Acclerator with a D.I. output. Though at that point I may as well do it for everything, they're all similar enough 
Just curious for those of you asking for built-in DI on the existing preamp pedals, Why? And by no means am I hating on it, I really am legit curious as here was my thought process:
Assuming it'd require a larger pedal case size to fit the transformer + XLR jack, whats the benefit of it built-in vs something external?
The SushiBox things don't run on a 9v, so you're already carrying a power supply of some sort so its not a 1-item-carry load-out.
If you say size, there's small-sized passive like DBBlox or active like DB200 that'd probably be equivalent to the next-up box size when shoved together (or under-board like I do).

I'm not a heavy D.I. user, and I mostly rely on my I.R. for the D.I. not the preamp, but people are asking for it and I'm going to try. I think if I really try hard enough I can fit it in the same size box as the current top-mount jack pedals. And while I don't expect it to double the price of the pedal, it will go up for sure, as I'm using Cinemag transformers. There are a few places in a pedal when you can get away with cutting costs, but in my opinion transformers aren't one of them.
All that being said I'm also interested in why everyone wants a preamp with D.I. rather than relying on it being in a cabsim or I.R. Is it mostly for recording convenience?
Convenience, yeah. I am also at least 5 years behind when it comes to this stuff, since I was spoiled with a soundguy with a great home studio in my last band, and have only gotten serious about playing again this year. I don't even know what IR is, or other possibilities. I just want a way for the sound off the board to get somewhere else with as few components as possible. But I'm in the building phase right now, and by the time I'm ready to play with people again, due to both Covid and personal circumstances, I'll be living on the other side of the country.

Mostly got it for power amp emulation, but enjoying the cab sims more than I expected.

I use a Torpedo CAB M+ for all my bass recordings now. My amp has a built-in D.I., but I love the Two Notes stuff, and very affordable for what you're getting.
I specifically won’t by preamps with DIs. I already have a DI that I love and I usually don’t want my preamp at the end of my chain....so I always felt buying a preamp with a DI in it was just paying for something larger that I didn’t need and wouldn’t use.
For a while, it seemed every new preamp that came out had to have a DI in it....I’m so happy that people like Sushi Box are actually making great preamps now without DIs in them. Not trying to say don’t put DIs in anything....just please don’t stop making preamps without.

Agreed.
Maybe instead of adding DI to the existing pedals, make a tube DI pedal.
Possible features
- Thru output
- Input gain control
- Tube buffered 1/4" out with level control
- Transformer isolated output with level control (1/4" TRS and XLR)

Yeah, let's do that. I'm a total amateur when it comes to this stuff, as I said.
That's the main point for me. If it has a cabsim I could see a D.I. being useful as that will generally be end of the chain.

Now that's definitely the sort of thing I could do. If I'm just throwing two controls on it and not 5 or so I should be able to fit it in a regular size enclosure with a 12AX7.

Yeah it seems like the sort of thing people would be interested in, I'll throw it on my list if things to take a look at after this next batch is verified. I emailed my contact about ordering a few transformers to try out last night, hopefully he gets back to me soon and I can start playing. I want to go with Cinemag since I like a little color in my D.I., and cheap transformers usually sound a little sterile on my opinion. If you want complete transparency in your D.I. then you probably don't want a tube D.I. in the first place

Just a quick shoutout to @Sushi Box FX and to let you know the kind of guy Nate is. I bought a used particle Excelerator and had an issue with it when it arrived. Reached out to Nate got back to me instantly and we figured out that I’m just a big dope and was my issue. Offered to take care of it and I have every confidence that he would’ve if it was broken
