Oh and also I should clarify, not building anything tonight was an exaggeration, I will of course be working on the January batch. I finished the last of the enclosures last night so all powdercoating and printing is done, now it's board preparation/get things ready for assembly time time.
Also sometime tonight I'm planning to go through and update the website for the January orders people have requested be held until handwired options are available, so if you asked for your January build to be held you should receive an email tonight confirming it (I think).

Probably for the best….I had decided at work today that if that one slot was still open when I got home, I was ordering a Slampegg also.

Alright, if anyone in the January batch had asked me to hold your order for the handwired builds you should have (hopefully) gotten an email from the website confirming this change. Let me know if you were expecting one and didn't get it and I'll make sure you're on the list.

My best friend makes fun of me because usually when I get a new piece of gear I take it apart before I even plug it in, so as soon as I mentioned that I got a new amp he asked what the guts looked like
I've been able to resist so far on the Streamliner (I do plan to do some tube rolling though), but I do have a couple pedals I bought a few weeks ago and promptly poked around inside and still have yet to plug in and see what they sound like.
@Sushi Box FX Is the Streamliner one of Andy's designs ? I'd imagine you guys could lose me in a nano second of conversation ;-)
I remember when I was first starting out on bass ~8 years ago now and looking at options, and was like "Soundgear? Cmon, that doesn't sound cool at all" and went elsewhere, thinking they were some square budget indie kid instrument. I was not very good at the internet then, or at braining.
Now I'm on my second SR (first was the single-cut SRSC805), the SR1346B 6-string from the Premium line. It's a completely killer 6-string bass and a looker in its own right. But man...the Prestiges are Ibanez realizing they're really good at building gorgeous hotrods.
And looking back, I'd now recommend even the entry-level SRs for being lightweight, slim-necked, and great modding platforms with quality control that puts a lot of competitors to shame.
And to not completely thread de-rail: they sound good thru Sushi Box pedals.
I think it may have been, I saw a couple threads about them where he said he services them for TB members, but didn't see him explicitly mention it was his design.
I see him around a lot on technical threads and would love to introduce myself and have a conversation with him, but I'm too shy
Yup, I actually bought my SR500 the day after I bought a brand new Spector. I was working in a music store that was a Spector dealer, and I special ordered a Legend X in holoflash finish. It finally came in and I took it home, and felt pretty good about it. Then the next day someone came and traded in an SR500 for something else, don't remember what. But I liked the look of it so I plugged it in, and man that contoured body and slinky neck won me over, and the Bartolini mk i pickups aren't too shabby either. I clocked out, drove home, came back with the Spector, and took the SR500 home, and didn't regret it one bit. The Spector was cool, but the SR500 was me. Geeze, that was 6 years ago.

I always liked Ibanez basses, sold a lot when in that biz and played them for a while because the guitarist I was working with was a big time endorser and clinician, drummer was on Tama. We made all the trade shows it was a lot of fun and helpful bit of coin.
My primary is an Ibanez BTB846V; I haven't gigged with anything but it and my fretless Ibanez in years now.
