Oh and I kept meaning to mention and kept forgetting, my Amphenol distributor was all out of the silver XLR jacks this month, so I ended up paying a little extra for black, and I love the look. I still have a couple silver on hand and anyone with silver knobs I'll try to get you a silver XLR jack, but I love the way the black jack matching the black knobs looks.

Nice. i'm on the spin bike this winter. Waiting for left knee repair ... missing skiing. Been skiing longer than making music... Thanks for sharing the pic. I never feel as alive as when I'm in the high alpine.
A question I'm sure lies in these pages but search is failing me.
I realise the tonal imprint that is intended for the SBVT but can it also cop a B15 with some twiddling?
And does it stay clean or can it produce some tube style od\compression?

Say that reminds me, something I was curious about...why is the XLR jack mounted on the outside instead of on the inside? I assume it's squeezed in there as it is and there's no room...and it doesn't really matter in the end but like I said...just curious
Agedhorse is very approachable ( in my experience ) and responsive via pm . As long as you’re not trying to refute the laws of physics or electronics as some rookies have tried - he is very patient and informative . If you have good questions I’d expect he’ll indulge your requests with grace . Certainly no reason to be bashful there with your ( Nathan’s ) background . There is also a long thread on the Streamliner and several discussions of tubes to roll in it too . I have the 600 and am very happy with it in stock form . … Kelly

Yep. Andy designed the Streamliner and Shuttle Max and I believe all the other Genz amps and cabs prior to those 2. He was Jeff Genzlers lead designer. He also has a flat fee to ship Genz amps to him for warranty work/repair. I’ve sent him my amps and he sends them back in a couple of days.
They don’t even have to be broken. He will clean pots and do factory upgrades all for about $125. Well worth it to have him give an amp that he designed a once over.
He is also a very cool dude with great communication skills. One more reason to love Genz amps.
@FronTowardEnemy Andy is indeed a great and no nonsense guy. We share a pro audio background that influences our bass technology opinions in a similar fashion. He however can implement ideas whilst I can only be a patron ;-)
It's funny in a way that the Subway amps and DI's are very 'Genz-like' in their transparency and not very 'Mesa-like' ... at least from my observation.
And to bring this full circle, I'll be comparing my Jan Build Finally DI to a Subway DI+ when they both arrive. The Subway DI+ is very near top of the heap for me in DI's. I literally retired my last Avalon U5 after I migrated to a Subway D-800+ ... Andy's DI design simply made the U5 unnecessary.

I can only echo the same. Andy is honest and direct. Very helpful. Sent my streamliners back to him for service. They’re my fav amps ever and I’ve had more than my fair share. I was about to give up on the Magellan amps(no tubes), but I put a couple sushi pedals in front of them and Dang! Streamliner territory for sure! Does glass matter? You bet you sass it does!
