The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

I wasn't able to find time for Smoke Signal last night, but the CNC is back up and running, looking good so far so I should be back on track for getting April finished by the end of the month.

Also this thing sounds pretty freaking great. I'm using vintage (not NOS anymore :P) RCA tubes, 12AU7 in gain and 12AT7 in buffer just like Deep Dish. I'll try to find time to wire up Greenhouse later this week.

I don't know why buying a car requires me to spend two hours at the dealership, but apparently it did. The new sushimobile is excellent. 2022 Rav4 hybrid in midnight black finish. Stock sound system is surprisingly good, but I will still be adding a subwoofer at some point. Going from a 17 year old car to this makes me feel like I spoiled myself, it handles beautifully.

Nice ride! I had the same issue with the dealership in 2020. Had everything done for the sale online, but it was still a 2 hour process when I arrived to pick up my new vehicle and it made me late for work.

Nice choice. I have a 2017 Highlander (there can be only one...) it has been a great vehicle. It is a little 'grandpa' like.. which is OK seeing as I am one ;-)
I run a 2017 hybrid Highlander (named “Duncan”) and love it. My wife’s heritage is highland Scot so I guess that fits. And I am a Grandpa as well. That said, I told my wife about the Grandpa description, and she said it is not! (Grandpa would drive a 1980 F150)

Yeah once our kids are all out of carseats we're talking about trading my wife's Sienna for a Highlander hybrid as a smaller "big car" for the family. Highlander is more of a grandpa car than a Supra (which is what I really wanted), but I don't really think of it as a grandpa car.

I recently traded in my 4Runner… 12 years old and 190,000 miles. The only nonscheduled maintenance I ever had to do was replace the motor that opened the sunroof! If my experience is a guide you’ve made a great purchase!
Yeah my old Rav4 was already 9 years old when I bought it and the driver's window motor was shot, but that was a $40 part on eBay and took me and a couple buddies an hour to replace. I don't think I ever had to do anything else besides oil and tires in the 8 years I owned it. Well and obviously change the stereo twice, change out all the speakers, and add a pair of subwoofers :p

On an almost-pedal-related note, the "midnight black" finish is a nice metallic gloss with blue flakes in it and up close looks similar to rainbow's end. I really dig it.

On a completely pedal-related note, it looks like the last slot for May just sold out.

Now that the CNC is back up and running I'm going to dig in hard this weekend to finish up the enclosures for April. Tonight I plan to pick up from last night and wire up the Greenhouse prototype and poke at Smoke Signal a little before getting back to soldering up handwired boards.

I blame everyone else for not grabbing that last spot first, I ended up ordering 3 pedals for May

Maybe I missed it, but when is this new faux Deep Dish hybrid/two tube warm & gooey pedal expected to be available? June or July?

I haven't decided yet whether it's going to be available as a standard offering, further evaluation is necessary (as always). But yes it is the Deep Dish with the compression bits removed.

Once I get it boxed up (it's in line, not sure when it will happen) I'll probably send it to a couple people to try out and get some opinions. Before I do that I'll have to pull out the vintage RCA tubes and put some JJ's in there for a more fair representation of what it would sound like if I were to sell them.
