The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

cool-it will also benefit greatly from an upstream hpf for my taste.
I predict in the not too distant future there shall be much regret over all the extra HPF LFF falderal and hoopla
We did just fine without those Shi### erm Shiny circuits being added to every device under the Sun and Moon,
But I'm certain those would both be improved by the addition were some dweeb to request it.

This dweeb will never play with a drummer again without a variable hpf in my chain if I can avoid it. YMMV ;)

Your right. We did just fine without that sh*t.
But now we're doing better with that sh*t.

Don't you hate it when you look at shiny new gear and then the cold rational common sense kicks in?
I've wanted the HWUA ever since it was announced. This pedal is somewhat special to me - and I want to find out if the noise issues I'm experiencing on/off with my UA are gone then.

I clicked around, unable to decide between the hot rod feeling of a matte black housing with a red LED and the bling version (rainbow/green) - then looked at how my board would be arranged, had I the HWUA to place there and found that Rainbow with Red LED would be the perfect fit.
Then I did some mental calculations. With an expensive pedalboard on the way, right in the middle of my large scale MIDI conversion I still need another Cioks PSU and a whole bunch of rather expensive cables, plus a few bits and bobs that generate quite a sum by themself - and my budget is already somewhat strained with the recent acquisition of a Strymon BigSky plus Morningstar MC8 & ML5.

Being realistic, it's either the HWUA or warm dinners for next five weeks.
So I tried hard acting my age and did the sensible thing.
With a heavy heart, I took a last look at the Sushi website with everything neatly stuffed in my shopping cart and then said goodbye. To dinners. And sent out the order.

HA!

I'm hungry now.

The human body also houses a soul, and thus needs more than one type of nourishment.

Beans and rice, my friend!

Lol, nice! Ramen, my friend…

Did I miss an announcement that the SBVT isn’t available now?
Kind of. I believe I mentioned something a few months ago, but I should go in and add something to the website explaining it. I was never really satisfied with the way I had designed the mids control, which is unique in the SBVT, and I wanted to do it better. I did a redesign a couple months ago, and it was way worse, so I've put SBVT on the shelf until I have time to get back into it and get it the way I want.

Oh, ok! I must have missed that or forgot about it. Thanks for the clarification!

Yay! That’s awesome man! I’ll start harassing my maildude immediately lol

As a previous mailman, very recently left to go back to EMS, don't do that.. Although I know you're joking :roflmao:
Mail carriers have nothing to do with when something shows up. They can't deliver until they get it.
By the way, you're going to love your SH... my HWSH kept me from selling a bass that I "thought" I wasn't gelling with.

This Finally DI box is still very nice.

Played it through the XLR into a mixer with inears and it is quiet. (the good kind)
No hum, buzz or any other noise, just the bass.

The noise floor is not heard until the last touch of the Volume on full, then you get some "air".
Should not need to push the Volume that high for it to be an issue, it sends a good strong signal at half volume with Gain between 9-1 o'clock.

Was not over Hot either, was able to control the signal from clipping the mixer with the mixer's gain near half.
Should not be a problem like some Active DI's can push the channel before raising the mixers gain, and if it does, drop the Volume on the Finally.
The signal will still sound full. Let the Sound Person up the signal.

I will not be going though a PA for a few weeks to try it live, but expect it to shine as it does at home.

Pictures! Though it is raw finish it is a nice looking box.

Curious... what IEM's you have here?

Man even the packaging on these feel higher quality. I'm really digging these tubes. I have a new amp coming sometime soon, and I already have a full Psvane set of tubes waiting for it :P
