The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

@Sushi Box FX I know that my modded SS is supposed to be like the UA in the blue channel but I'm digging it as a warmer to crunchy drive instead of the cleanish preamp sound I get from my UA. The Red channel if full on bonker down the road blast. Either of those into my @johnk_10 FET-F2B is bodacious. I plan to use it as a drive instead of a preamp.

Also that Systech Overdrive is a @johnk_10 custom that is very unique and special.
 
I'm thinking about adding/subbing the More in place of the westinghouse in my SpaceHouse setup- so it would be a SpaceMore, or a MoreSpace. Or perhaps replacing both pedals into one. I've got an AT7 in the Spaceheater and it drives the Westinghouse. My idea is less grit and more warmth.

Will the More take a hot signal nicely and tame the "heat" that the Spaceheater sends if I hit it hard like I do with the Westinghouse?

Or am I barking up the wrong tree? I really like the Spacehouse, but I *think* I'd like to start using my Spaceheater as either an OD or a dirty tube boost pedal.
More is about as similar tonally to Westinghouse as anything I've ever made, it's the only thing that can go the full sweep without breaking up. That being said if you push a really hot signal into the front of More it would eventually breakup, but I don't know how hot it would have to be, and I can't test it as my More build is still with my friend, he's refusing to give it back until I build two for him :P

Gotta say, an SBVT in raw brushed aluminum (just a quick blast with a belt sander, top only), with simple artwork in blue would look siiick.
You'll probably like the idea I had for the limited edition pedals.

UA tonestack is a Fender style, DW is a Hiwatt style. They're both treble-mid-bass stacks, but that's where the similarities end. Fender stacks you can set to around 2-10-2 and get a "flat" response, but there's no way to get a flat response out of a Hiwatt stack, it will always have a pronounced mid-bump.

Have you ever tried a PA/UA with a DW tonestack?

Curious about the results, and how differently it would sound with only one tube, compared to two.

A DW in a smaller UA sized enclosure would be pretty sweet.

I haven't, that would be interesting to try out. It wouldn't be that difficult to get DW into the smaller size box, I would just need to drop the last gain stage. There are 4 available (2 per tube) but the circuit is only using 3, so I could just cut it off and put it in the same box as UA. I guess it would essentially be like a clean Hiwatt preamp?
 
Actually I did do a search, but somehow I missed it. I see it now:

That's exactly it ;) I added a couple extra pots that are attached to the DSP chip so I can play around with other things while I've got it in there. The real purpose of Gondwana mini is for me to have a platform to play with the IR loader capabilities and see what I can come up with before committing to a behemoth with a dozen tubes and a thousand features.

I love the grind it gets, but a fully clean pre?

All this talk about IRs make me want to build something up. I just ordered one of the Raspberry Pi Pico WiFi boards and figured I might as well get two regular Picos as well since they’re so cheap.

Wonder if I could find some circuitpython or micro python code that would do that? Probably be pretty easy on a Pi 4, but you can’t find those anywhere right now.

Not being an electronics guy, so I'm going out on a limb here,

Could you feasibly use a MOSFET or opamp to take place of that 3rd gain stage?

The FMV tone stack is passive, is the Hiwatt tone stack passive as well?
