This is exactly what the UA does. You will need a separate DI. The Finally DI is the same as preamp as the UA but it doesn't have tone controls so it sounds like a UA set flat, the Finally might be what you want if you have other ways to EQ.

When you say the finally is the same as the UA set flat, do you mean flat as in 5-5-5 on BMT, or there is no tone stack so it’s truly flat? The Bassman I used still had plenty of mojo even when the knobs were set 0-10-0, which is supposedly “flat” on a passive tone stack. I don’t know if it would sound the same if the tone stack was removed completely (this is well beyond my understanding).

Alright, all parts for the October batch have been ordered so no more changes will be allowed.

The one exception will be pink LEDs, I ordered enough of those that everyone in October could have them if they wanted, so if you want pink LEDs in your October build you still have another week or two to let me know.

IIRC, there's no "truly flat" setting on the DW, due to some differences in the tone stack compared to the FMV style.

Correct, the Hiwatt tonestack does not have a flat position like the FMV tonestack. There's always a pronounced mid scoop right about 300Hz that slides around based on knob turning.

There are a number of differently voiced and function tone stacks used in amplifiers, pedals and other devices ~ it is imperative that know how each differ and function to get the best results. There are two basic categories Active and Passive with subgroups in each category. Classic tube amp tone stacks will be passive and have different characteristics one manufacturer to another. Solid State preamps will sometimes have a passive voiced tone stack but just as often you will have an active stack often with variable mid ranges or even more flexibility.
There is much discussion about passive tone stacks and each has their own advantages and disadvantages depending on your instrument, style of music and preference. Attached is the Tone Stack Calculator so you can explore the visual if not sonic differences between the different circuits. FWIW Fuzzrocious offered the Baxstabber and Feed Me as pedals to experiment with those choices in the Baxandall variations and mono tone stacks.

As others noted, 0/10/0 is flat on the UA and the Finally sounds basically identical to the UA set to 0/10/0 except it has much more gain without a tone stack.

FWIW I just got a Donner B1 Bass Syn Sequencer Arpeggiator that sounded pretty good, running it through the MORE made it Massive!

Not much to tell until I get the enclosure in and do some measurements to verify it will fit. Based on my drawing based on measurements I'm finding online it would be a tight fit but should work. If I can't fit both tubes I'll have to find an interesting single-tube design to throw in there.

Maybe a tilt tone instead of the usual style? (In Klon enclosure)
