For the record - I am still loving my UA (HW). It brings the toanz.

As someone that doesn't play as much as I'd like to, I'm always happy to hear that people enjoy (and continue to enjoy long-term) my pedals.

Well I wish I had a tube tester. I think my 12AX7 in the UA is bad. When I play a passive bass the level is slightly below unity. Swapped in a 12AT7 and it sounds closer to what I'm used to. Weird... well it was a good run of a couple of months. Wondering if I knocked it around somehow and didn't realize it. No visually obvious damage. So now I'm off to continue the unintentional tube rolling adventure.
If it turns out to be the tube please let me know, I'm assuming it was a JJ/Tesla that I provided? I'm trying to keep track of the manufacturing codes of the ones that go bad in case there are multiple bad ones in a single batch that I can go back to the manufacturer and complain about.
Last November update: I just got back from the post office. Everyone should have received shipping notices for their November builds, and everything has been dropped off to USPS aside from the two that will be going via DHL, which I will drop off tomorrow morning as the closest DHL locations to me are already closed.

I have a HW Space Heater that may go up for sale. Not sure how much overlap there will be with the Space Heater. You can imagine how difficult it is searching this thread for “More”.

I have been looking into getting a tube preamp pedal lately, and Sushi Box FX has come to my attention is a great possibility. My question right now is: which one?
I am looking to try for what I call a "70's" tone. I wish for a smooth, warm, big, and perhaps "creamy" sound. I am not looking for much overdrive/breakup. I wish for it to sound mostly clean, but with the option to get into a slight breakup, and the ability to be pushed into a touch of overdrive, for the occasions when I want that.
Based on my perhaps nebulous goals, is there one particular pedal that would be the closest to what I am looking for here? Or more generally, what are the primary differences in how they sound?
I am trying to decide between the Dr. Wattson, Elementary, Slampegg Bee Pre X, and the Underground Accelerator. I would appreciate any info/input. Thanks!

It's a Psvane, which is weird because I've used that brand in multiple tube projects that I've used a whole lot more that I have the UA pedal. I swapped out a different 12AX7 Psvane tube from my Firefly build to test and the UA is acting the way I expect it to, so I'm pretty sure it's the tube. Sometimes that's just the nature of magic glass.
That really sounds like my Slampegg. Of course my SushiBox experience is only with a Finally, UA, and the Slampegg, but that's exactly what I'm getting out of it.
IMO, not as crystalline, more round and tubey, not quite as much bite. I'm actually going to pair the Slampegg with my Finally, and bring the UA home and run it solo or push it with a Phat Phuk B.
On an unrelated note, I finally got this video together of my updated build process. I was lazy and didn't change the backing track, but it shows how current SMD build pedals (specifically @Ryan L.'s Black Eye) are made.
I have both. IMO, there is no overlap. They sound completely different. The More is very hard to describe until you hear it. Then the name makes perfect sense.

I agree with above posts....Slampegg is "rounder", smoother, less gritty. Both can do clean /warm. If you want zero grit/OD, need no eq on the pedal and seek only tube warmth, More is the ticket. Be aware it needs a fairly high current (not sure what power supply you pan to use) to feed enough electrons to both tubes. If you don't need eq on the pedal, and just want warmth and a touch of hair/grit, there are used Space Heaters FS in the classifieds....a SH is a UA without the Fender tone stack. Whatever flavour of sushi you choose.....it'll be delish
