The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

I know Geddy split his signal and in the early 70s he ran it through 2 different amps, one clean and one dirty, but I do not know if he actually used a split mono signal or if he used the stereo signal. I know for sure Squire ran the pickups separately because he had his 4001 set up like that. I guess I could use my UA for the neck and a Dreamcatcher for the bridge so I could swap it between a completely clean sound on both pickups and the dirty channel.

FWIW one of the things that made Chris's tone so unique is that he intentionally used different amps for each pickup, on one side he had the meanest and cleanest bass amp available and on the other side he had the snarl of those Marshall amps ~ blending between the two and adding effects on each side as creativity inspired. The UA Dream Catcher pairing might be too similar, the Dream Catcher and Slampegg Bee could be more interesting that way or even the upcoming Venus.

Which box of Sushi has the best lows? For dub reggae, and the times I need fat, clean bass for certain C4 Synth settings that don't like grit afterward. Hoping for some two channel Sushi so I can have a dirty channel going when I'm not playing dub, but if one of the smaller units is the way to go I'm also open to that.
I would say either the Underground Accelerator or the Elementary for the Dub and they both come in a two channel pedal with more drive on the 2nd channel. The UA is the clean channel of the Dreamcatcher and the Elementary is the clean channel of the Detective. The UA is a Fender style tone stack and the Elementary/Detective are based on the Hiwatt DR103 amp.

I play tons of dub reggae and use the Underground Accelerator. Has SOOO much low end on tap. Even for the fattest tones, I don’t have the bass knob higher than 11 o’clock.

I also use it for Rush, so make of that what you will. Lol

So the Dirty Magic finish is pretty freaking great.

It looks as though the hole for the lower channel indicator light blew through the vents overlying the tube.

Venus X in that color would be pretty freaking great :hyper:

I will be ordering a More at some point in the very near future, i'm thinking that this might be the colour!

Just gotta decide on which LED colour to order with it!

It always has on the two-channel builds since Smoke Signal, but with the LED bezel installed it gets covered up. I haven't changed the milling files on my CNC machine since then so it has carried over, but the milling design of the "standard" enclosures that are made by an external manufacturer has the tube slots moved slightly further apart so the two holes don't touch.

If the Wattson channel of the Detective and the red channel on the Dreamcatcher were at their best angry settings and fought, which would win?
Dreamcatcher red channel would win every time. Dr. Wattson is aggressive, but still plays by the rules. Dreamcatcher red channel fights dirty and will go straight for the jugular.

That looks amazing! Have considered an updated Suhsi Box log for the customer orders? Similar to that on the customer shop page?

Not that I'm trying to be elistist in anyway! :p:p:p
The Custom Shop ordering page has pictures of what all the finishes will look like, and if I build anything that doesn't already have a picture, I take pictures of that build and they become the new reference picture. So eventually I hope to have pictures of everything, but someone needs to be brave and order them sight unseen first.

Not just sight unseen, but sound unheard. This is the first time I've ever pulled the trigger on a pedal because I just know it's going to be killer. All the comments in this thread are so amazingly positive. I can't even remember a negative post. In any case, I just want more of what I have (which I like), so just I ordered a More. :)

Compared to everyone else you might just like it even More!

Damn my typing is terible :sour: corrected above.

I was meaning like the logo in the bottom left of the pedals but with "custom shop" underneath :)
