I only mentioned because some may get a kick from diy their own finish.

The tricky thing there is that it would actually be more work for me than a stock pedal because I would still have to mill out the blank enclosure, whereas stock enclosures are outsourced and they show up at my door ready to go. So if I did offer it, there certainly wouldn't be any discount.
Quick Finally v2 note, I have enough transformers on hand to complete all the current pending backorders. I have a large (VERY LARGE) order of transformers coming in late December, so any new backorder placed will probably have to wait until January. But the good news there is that the order is large enough that I will be able to fill the backorders and build up stock so I don't have to backorder them.
makes sense. Without knowing your exact workflow or working contracts I had no idea if it (workflow) made my idea a shot in the dark or a possibility.
I’m fully aware that many seemingly good ideas are not cost efficient and are therefore bad ideas. At least ideas are free until you test them lol…. I’d be broke… broker than I already am.
It would be easy enough for those that want to paint or etch the cases by stripping them.
True, when I was in college I would mod and refinish pedals for friends (and myself). 80 grit on an orbital sander to strip, 220 grit to smooth, then a couple coats of paint.
Just got my Slampeg Bee. The tone is awesome, but the output seems low. Is this normal for this pedal? If I try to run it Bass -> Slampeg -> Effects Return on my amp it does not get loud. If I run it through the Finally then to the effects return, there is plenty of volume on tap and I can set the Finally about noon for level. For comparison, I have used a Sansamp BDDI and an Aguilar Tonehammer pedal through the effects return on my amp and both of those worked fine for volume. Is there maybe a trim pot in the Slampeg or is it meant to go to the front of an amp and not feed directly into the effects return?
I've read some where that the slampegg has low output, so maybe not good to feed it into the return.
Slampegg inherently has less output than my other pedals. Just the way Ampeg designed the circuit. It works well through the input of an amp, but will be notably low into FX return.
Perfect, thank you. Just wanted to make sure it was operating as intended. I will probably never use it without running it through the Finally anyway so no issues.
When I use my Slampegg Bee mini tube it is always paired with a Finally v1 or a MORE when going to anything even my interface. More tube spice is sometimes better but not always.
But that SB tone is so delicious, can't wait for the GSB!
Hey all - I finally ordered my first Sushi Box pedal this morning after months of monitoring and reading almost all the old posts in this thread. I just have to say this is an amazing sub-group of an already great talkbass community. I had narrowed down my choice to Elementary and Slampegg and after reading about the evolution of the Dr. Wattson to the Elementary from some posts last year decided it would be my first of likely many purchases from Sushi Box Fx (hopefully my next one will be the Grand Slampegg?

I also just want to shout out @Sushi Box FX. I can probably count on 1 hand the number of times I've seen a business owner be such an integral part of the community they serve. I have been so impressed reading all your old posts and the thought you put into every decision and how it will impact the people buying your pedals. Not to mention the endless support you provide everyone here. I read in one of your posts that you don't have customers you have a group of friends who give you money in exchange for your services. That mindset is so rare and I applaud you for it. I'm excited to officially be part of the Secret Sushi Box Society!

Anyone ever have an issue with a jack not holding the cable? On my slampegg the input has always pushed out the cable, kind of a pain. I either tape it in or just pray it doesn't pop out (it will).
How old is your Slampegg? I remember there being a batch of 1/4" jacks a couple years ago (during the supply chain mess) that had a really stiff contact, I started bending them out at the end so they held onto cables better. When I get home I can post a pic of how to do it if it helps.
I believe it was last spring that I purchased directly from you. That sounds good, let me know how to bend it!

Are the Grand slampegs gonna have any plain color housing or custom options? I just dont really want the bees on mine and a flat black housing would look tasty
Just completed my ultimate board. Snagged a More used off of Classfieds after learning the unfortunate news that Nathan won’t be doing custom enclosures and wrapped it in polyvinyl. Looks sweet! My ultimate pedalboard is now complete!
