The Tall Thread.

I'm 6'4". And thin. You big and tall guys should count yourselves lucky because you have special departments made just for you. For the unaware, the "Big and Tall" shops/departments are only for people who are either big or big AND tall. If you're just tall, without the big, you get to shop with the midget racks.

Clothes are a huge [pain in the ass. Fitted shirts? Well, they fit someone. I have to go up one neck size to get the sleeve length needed. Jeans are an issue even within the same brand. I'm down to like three friendly styles that are available to me.

Cars. Well, headroom hasn't been so much of a problem as leg room. Every test drive I'm on, I immediately throw the seat all the way back.

I think probably the most annoying thing is the lack of proportional understanding by those who are smaller. While working at a department store, I had the head of security ask me to manually adjust one of the cameras....mounted like 9 feet in the air. I've had dates ask me if I could reach in a purse on the floor while sitting in a barstool.

Do I really look that out of whack to others? My arms would have to be 4 feet long. I don't ask my coworkers if they ride Golden Retrievers to work...

@mike_v_s I can relate to finding clothes that fit well. I'm also more tall than big: 6'5" ~210 lbs. I'm much more length than width, which seems to be the opposite of how clothing manufacturers cut their XL sizes. I'm usually choosing between something that shows off my sexay middrift or would be more appropriate for sleeping in on a camping trip.

yup. I'm not really "extra large", but most of my clothes are. That worked when I was 23 and it was the style. Now i'm 33.

I have to offer my size with a caveat when asked what I size t-shirt to get me. I'm in the no man's land between a long large or a skinny XL, and occasionally a medium when Footlocker carries their giant sized t's.

Extra long t-shirts are far too much of a rarity.:(
