The Tall Thread.

I had a teacher in high school who was about 6'8" and famously still drove a Morris Mini. He'd removed the driver's seat and sat in the back. At that time I drove a Mini too, but I'm 6' nothing and could manage with the seat pushed all the way back and the steering wheel between my knees.

My drummer's grandfather would always parallel-park his Mini by driving the front in place, getting out of the car and carrying the rear in place.

6'5" .... :D

My son was 6'7", my daughter is 6'1", my wife is 6'. Being tall is cool, no disrespect but anyone under 6' is short IMO ...

Proof ....

Those could be midgets. No way to tell without something relative to compare them/you to.:hmm:

Actually, my guitarist is within an inch of me and my frontman is over six foot. The height stats in my band would make you assume we're playing Swedish death metal.:D

:rollno:

I'm that doofus in the back.

Im 6'1'' in my Sphomore year of H.S. It gets awkward some times.. My Varsity Jacket is a tad too short, I have lots of trouble finding long enough pants with a 34 waist.. I run in to lots of low hanging objects... I have to have taller shafts on my golf clubs.. But being tall is great when mixed with hormones, H.S. girls love low cut shirts...

Sorry if I offended any H.S. dads, just stating my + and - about being a Freak o Nature.

Yeah, mental midgets, perhaps .....

Pointbass, that bass looks like a ukelele! Since when does anyone make a 30" scale 7 string????

I'm a big guy .... 35" scale, big bodied bass! just got done with a 5 hour gig with that sucker strapped on ...

I can confirm that Ed (pointbass) is a big fella. I'm 5'10" and standing next to Ed and Laurent (ChiliPepper) at the NY GTG made me feel like an ewok. :D

I'm pleased to report that for both of them their bighearted generosity was every bit as exceptional as their height. :)

I'll confirm Bill on Ed, he stopped by the shop one day when passing through Greensboro, and he is indeed every bit of 6'5". Since I'm 6'2", I didn't feel like an ewok, but I definitely had to look up to him.

He's also worth looking up to as a person and player, which confirms Bill's second comment. :)

I'm 6'3", not overly tall, but somewhat taller than the North American average. I don't have particularly long limbs but I do have a large torso, which makes airplane seats and such unenjoyable. One of my brothers is 6'7", which is probably handy, being as he is a fireman. I tease him about not needing a ladder, etc. Being of above average height or size is only really noticeable for me when travelling, especially in Asian countries such as Vietnam or the Phillipines. At home, I'm no different than most.
