Atkins is a plan for life.
There is a common misconception that you stay at 20 grams indefinitely. That is not true.
People who gorge themselves on red meat have either not read the book, or they are not following the diet properly.
I apologize if what I said came of a bit one-sided and harsh. I guess I was making a bit of a generalization .. I was refering to and relating the Atkins diet with with too many people,(most of whom I work with) who are using the diet as a means to quick weight loss.
Most of the people that I associate with Atkins, or so called Atkins diets, are cutting carbs completely out of their diet yet speak about how they ate 3 eggs and 5 pieces of bacon for breakfast and are going to have an "Atkins burger" for lunch, and then steak for dinner.
I guess by some people, a low-carb diet in any way, shape, or form is being called an Atkins diet. I didn't mean to come across in a bad way. I'll edit my original post.
