I’m really, really trying to resist the urge to try out a used bass at my local GC. I’m really about ready to cave though….

Help me, my TB Friends!!! Help me resist!! :)

What's wrong with playing a bass at a guitar shop?

If you don't try that bass, on your deathbed it may be the biggest regret of your life....never knowing if it was "The One". You may torture yourself by not knowing all the rest of the days of your life. Wait, you wanted us to talk you OUT of trying it?!?!?!?!?! Ok, that bass probably sucks.
  5. Just play it, man!!!

That bass is gonna be thumpin' at you like the tell-tale-heart!!!

    There's no avoiding the inevitable!!!

Haha!! Yeah. I already have enough to regret on my deathbed, so I probably shouldn’t add to the list, but it probably does suck. You’re no help. ;)

Well, I checked it out. It’s a mess. Horribly setup. Dead, dead strings. The action was pretty high and the G String Saddle was as low as it can go. It’d probably need a shim. Anyway, if you’re looking for a cosmetically sweet Roscoe LG3005 at a great price, it’s there. I’m gonna pass. No deathbed regrets here.

As long as you take good pics for the inevitable NBD thread, it's all good.

Nope. I’m holding out for a better specimen. It was an old one too. Wilkinson Bridge…. 3206 Serial Number. Late 90’s?

Go to GC and take a picture of the bass and post it here on TB so we can all see it and tell you if it's worthwhile or not. While you are there taking the pic, try the bass out and give us your impressions. We're here to help.

What guitar center? Location? I’ll go sit near you, I just ate a big bowl of chili. I swear you won’t buy it because something just won’t smell right with it :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

  19. Ha!! You expect any empathy here of all places?

Here’s what you do, go check it out. If you like it, make a ridiculously low insane offer so low. It’s to the point of being insulting. The manager will likely either show you the door or have security take care of it. Problem solved.

We are not a restraint support group. We're an enablement club. Asking us to help you resist? Yeah, like that's gonna happen.
