Besides, the idea of a "dream" pedalboard is a bit funny to me. If you know what pedals you want, then just slowly save up and buy them. But I don't think that's the case a lot of times. People see expensive pedals or hear others give them glowing reviews and figure that they are the end-all, be-all. I love TalkBass, but I've noticed far too often people recommending pedals to other people that they have never played themselves.

And I'm not talking about "I've heard that the English Muff'n can get the tones you're talking about, you should look into one" type posts, but people advocating that others spend their money on a pedal that they haven't played with themselves. Or simply recommending a pedal because it's what they themselves have without really considering what the poster is asking for.

Well the point of this being my 'Dream Pedalboard' is that slowly, I'm earning the money to afford them. Take into account that I'm still in highschool, and getting money takes a lot longer, even with a job, then I expected. But I will have it. Oh yes, it will be mine... (after I finish off this new rig thing...)

anyway. I started this thread when i was younger, but with absolute no intention of actually getting all those pedals. I was just bored and wanted to think of the most complete pedal board. Sure, it's completely ridiculous, but it's cool to think about.

Haha maybe more! Yea that list won't be complete for at least 20 years, but the ones I want soon are the Demeter Compulator and the Bassdrive to update my DOD 250.

As of right now it looks like all I'm settling for in my Line 6 DL-4 over the Empress. I love the DL-4, and the Empress is a very nice, boutique unit, I don't need to step up right now. Then obviously the ToneCzar is a little out of reach (damn that waiting list). And until the tube reverb comes around, I'm using my Boss RV-3. I expect the rest of these by this summer.

Can everyone actually justify having up to and around 10 - 15 pedals? I can't see myself having any use for them...especially as a bass player. I'm not trying to cause arguments, I'm really just curious.

In fairness, I use effects with one band I play with, but only one band and that's it, and I use 'em sparingly. I think Tim Commerford and alike has clearly had a big influence on a lot of people on this board.

Well, I find that I can incorporate effects into ANYTHING that I'm playing. I currently have 10 pedals on my board...4 more sitting in drawers and GAS for a bunch more. Who knows how many there will be in the end? But they ALL serve some purpose. There are tons of sounds that I want to be able to make out of my bass...and I'm not limiting myself to "natural sounds".

Here, here. Plus, Commerford is not an influence on me as a bass player. At all. Nothing against him (except for Audioslave's last two albums - they're awful; and I gorged myself on Rage Against the Machine in high school, so I'm off that trip for a while) as a bass player.
