I now lament those posts, as a nagging back issue (which I am determined to resolve) and steady 3 hour gigs 2-4x a week has me thinking maybe a stupidly light bass could make things a tad easier...
.
I'm in pretty good shape too. Lower back issues I think came from the work that went/goes into being in good shape. Need to start doing things differently

You said this youself, but think for yourself at the gym while doing stand up calves push ups (calf raise). Think for yourself how much weight you put over your shoulders.Join a gym, and stop complaining over 2 lbs.

I didn't actually weigh the bass, but it felt like a bass of 25% of the weight of my regular bass. Besides, I live on a continent that uses the metric system so it's hard to say for me how many lbs it was.Throwing the flag on this one. 25% of a 10lb bass means that Spirit would be about 2.5 lbs. Did you mean 75%?
The VL's are even lighter than the SL's due to a chambered bodyI have no affiliation but consider a Lightwave. My full scale fiver is lighter than my fours (approx 6+ lbs incl onboard rechargeable battery), so i know the fours are super-light. Swamp ash and graphite mono bridges.

I've seen them used for $900
Available w/added magnetic p/u if you need, but uses an optical as standard. Very 'acoustic ' sound capability. A joy to play. Love mine.
Haha, better! I'm with you now. I have a white one that's discolored over time to a yellowed cream color, so I knew 2.5 lbs was a little off! Wall Queen for me, don't really care for it's neck, seems more like a like a baseball bat, but it fits many people just right and it has a timeless cool factorI didn't actually weigh the bass, but it felt like a bass of 25% of the weight of my regular bass. Edit, I just did a google search and the bass is aparently 7.5lbs. Thats pretty light!
