decided to skip out on getting a new bass, im just getting mine looked at and maybe going a few days without a bass. but ill be ordering a carvin bx500 head, which has a tube and is capable of some rich, juicy fuzz. yay tube head!

A tube =/= tube head.
Not trying to bust your balls, because the best doom tone* I've ever heard came from an SS Ampeg, but its the truth.
*Excluding Dopesmoker, which I've got to say has the end all be all of doom bass tones.
I approve of this thread but the band list needs a lot of work.

It's a solid delay. Gets feedbacky very quickly for me...I had to keep the repeats at less than 1:00 or else my cab lit up like Christmas...
It sounds almost as good as a real analog delay. The only thing that would make it better is tap tempo, which can not be added to the circuit.
i was able to test out a way huge swollen pickle and a zvex fuzz factory at the gc a few days ago. the swollen pickle could get a nice, rich, doomy fuzz, but i couldnt get it accurately as i was using a markbass rig, which have the most sterile sound ever. but every sound i got with the fuzz factory was either way too muddy or way to sharp. a weird pedal, thats for sure. wound up picking up a used keeley bypass looper for $50

I wanted to mention this because him and i are in total agreement with our(check my profile to see my set-up) usage of easy to obtain/cheeper boss/digitech/dod(and their ilk) pedals in regards to our pedal usage. I can speak for myself, if i HAD the money i would love to buy some wicked boutique stuff, but it is just not in the cards.
I don't mean to slam all of everyones awesome pedals, I just wanted to mention this in case anyone is geting into playing Doom you don't NEED the super expensive stuff to get "that doom sound".

i listened to some clips of the ehx germanium od. decided its the od sound im looking for, but im low on board space. anyone know of another cheap germanium od smaller than the ehx one?

the mojohand huckleberry V2 is an awesome, crackly fuzz that you can turn into more of a distortion by dropping the "juice" (bias" knob) into a nasty sounding distortion or maybe the dirtiest boost in the world. It is perfect for stoner rock. Sounds absolutley godlike through a phaser
