Thanks. I thought I was going to handle it pretty good. I had a few moments where I struggled with the wait time but all in all I survived. I tried to forget that I was having a bass built for me and then one day find a gift when I came home from work but it just didn't work out for me that way. Too many visits to TalkBass kept reminding me.

That's gotta be insane! I'm already contemplating another Valenti with Bartolinis and I still haven't gotten my first one yet. It's a horrible sickness guys, HORRIBLE!!! And yeah EagleMoon, wood floor pics are a big cause of it.:rollno:

Thank you kind sir. I'll be interested in knowing how I like it as well. I think I'll probably play it until my fingers bleed and then I'll put it down. It's got a nice modern tone from what I could hear in the video which is perfect for what I'm looking for. I think Nino nailed it from what I could hear in the video but we'll see when I get my grubby mits on it. I'll put it through the test.

Alright, I finally got the bass today, just in time to go up to the studio and do some recording. When I opened the box I was first impressed with how light it was in the case. When I got it in the studio, I opened up the case and was amazed at how nice it looked. Very nice indeed. Then I picked it up and it was stupid light! Very easily carried around the neck for a good 2 hours and no discomfort at all. Then I plugged it in and I immediately heard the exact tone I was looking for when I first talked to Nino about what I wanted. I loved the EMG's in it. It sounds very punchy and the EQ really puts out the sound. And to think I've been a Bartolini fan all these years when these Aguilar OBP's have been around. I'm a new convert.

The biggest surprise I found was the neck. I didn't think I would find anything that felt better than a Lakland neck. Well, I've been converted again. I love the shape and the feel. It's much better than the Tobias neck I've been playing for the last 4 months. My hand feels more at home and the wide string spacing makes it so much easier to get my fingers in there and dig under the strings. Tonally, it sounded really good in the recording I thought. The keyboardist, who is the biggest critic of my bass tone, and the drummer both said that I sounded much better and more precise with this bass than the Tobias. They complimented me on how articulate I was playing. I told them that I play like that all the time but now you can hear it much more clearly. I'll play it at church tomorrow and get a good idea how it plays live but it sounded good through my cabs in the studio with a loud drummer.

The bass in itself is awesome. Nino does such a good job at putting everything together and the fretwork and detail was everything you'd expect from a custom built bass. The set up was awesome and it was even in tune when I got it. I think anyone who's in the market for a Mike Lull or Sadowsky needs to play one of these basses first before they make their decision, and if they go with the others then it's merely for the name on the headstock.:D

Thanks again Nino for putting your skill and effort into making this bass play and sound so good. You build great stuff!

I did at first but then I changed it to 34". I was up in the air about it for a while, knowing that my Lakland had a 35" length but I wanted something different. I went ahead and gambled and won. The B string on my Valenti is just as tight as either one of the Laklands I owned. I really find no difference in either as far as feeling goes. If anything this Valenti is easier to play simply because of the set up that Nino did on it. I guess if I had some sort of hand condition such as arthritis or carpel tunnel syndrome I may notice it but I don't. I do, however, have some torn cartilage and a torn tendon in my wrist but I can still play without pain. I just have to worry about lifting heavy objects, such as Warwicks.:D
