Fashion: it's all about the accessories!
I'm not a hat guy, but I seem to have misplaced most of the hair from the top of my head, so, I need shade. And sunscreen. Meh.

Me and that PJ Update:
I'm sure I've said it a million times around here: I'm a single coil J guy.
I have a hard time with the P thing anymore.
Then: I remembered that the MBFusion has "that bright switch" on it.
"Click."
Bright by itself was a bit much, but, trim the tone on the bass a tad, trim the treble at the amp just a hair, and:
"Now the P bass has more of that J bass open shiny top end I like."

So; me and that PJ are getting along really well at the moment.

It's a pretty different thing, me playing a bass with one pickup and no preamp.
I really dig it, and it totally nails a great old school thing both visually, and sonically.
With the tone wide open, it's pretty edgy too!

I predict you'll like it a lot.

What strings are on it now?

Can't wait to get her in. Nino says she clocks in at only 7.8 pounds!

Don't know about the strings. Whatever Nino normally strings his with I suppose.

It's still very much a "P" bass so that sound is there. However I went with "hum cancelling" over a true single coil to avoid noise.

As with any P style bass, right hand placement while plucking is from where your variance in tone comes. With the Peavey and my other Laklands (other then the 55-64) I have multiple pickups which I can blend between and with the exception of the Lakland 55-60, active electronics. Different musical animals altogether.

Tonally, this bass will fit nicely into any musical situation where any other P bass would. I have some things coming up where I plan to use it; cover band gigs as well as a modern/new country project I've been invited to be a part of.

I'll post more thoughts over time as I get to use it in live / ensemble situation.
