It's a split coil/hum cancelling pickup. There is no way to hide those wires w/out rendering the p/u useless.
I like the bass, but it needs a pickguard.Almost done:
I was going to say that the 51 P looks wrong without a 'guard, no matter how nice the finish, but then I thought about it and decided ALL P's look wrong without a finish. I like the J body both ways. But a naked P looks incomplete, for some reason.
That P bass is fantastic! Congrats on another great build!
I usually like Precisions to have a pickguard. But, that green finish is to beautiful to coverup.

has Valenti ever make a bass (modern P Bass shape with Fender-style headstock OF COURSE!) that was 24 frets and NOT a 5 string?
