Actually, I haven't picked it up yet. I've been on travel for work, and the bass is sitting in the front office of my apartment complex. I'll be retrieving it first thing tomorrow morning, and I'll definitely be posting comments. My job has a habit of sending me off to random places at the worst times...
Same neck, different spacing on bridge.Nino, I see you offer a couple of different string spacings for your instruments. Do you simply adjust it at the bridge or do you actually use narrower necks for the narrower string spacing? Also, are you able to get quartersawn necks? And when are you taking orders, again?
33, Bassist, 1What's your age, rank, and serial number?![]()
Please email me for more info.(sorry for the billion questions, just dreaming about a CAR 5-string jazz with a pearl pickguard, quartersawn neck, pau ferro board. Not TOO much to ask for a hard working dude like myself)

When I was using Warmoth, They offered a 24 fret extension on their necks. I didn't really like it too much because the treble side cutaway on the body was the same and, IMO, it was pretty tough to reach the 23rd and 24th fret.Hi Nino,
I'm in the market for a 5-string vintagey "BLACK STEALTH" bass (with chrome hardware, Nordies, and quite possibly, an Audere pre).
Have you built any jazz-style basses with 24 fret necks? Is this even an option for your customers?
If you have built 24-fret basses, post some pix or PM.e-mail me some links!
Cheers,
Jay

Eventually, I would like to offer a 24F P and J bass but but I don't see that happening anytime soon.
A couple of basses that offer 24 frets on a J is the Sadowsky 24F5 and the Lull M5. The Nordstrand NJ5 is a Modern J styles body w/24 frets as is the Benavente Vintage Vortex.
Here are a couple wtih 24 fret's that I've built in the past:
