The Valenti Megathread

As the person who introduced Nino to Talkbass, I feel I must participate in this thread. Thank you thank you thank you - you can stop clapping now.

Just wanna say that aside from making great basses - Nino is great guy. Don't know of anyone that knows him that don't like him. Even from the days that he worked in the Sam Ash in my neighborhood - it was nice seeing him - and we guyz around here don't like many of the people that worked at Sam Ash at the time. Now that I think about it - they've been hiring a lot of much nicer people lately... hmmm....

Back to Nino. I'm super happy for him. He's doing what he loves and it's been great to see this wonderfully generous universe slowly unfold for him. He deserves it. There is definitely a Valenti bass in my future - just have to get all the MM basses into my collection first. I've got an allegience and a history with those guys - and money is tight.

Best of luck in your continued success. An congratulations on your first megathread! :)

After hearing and seeing KayCee's Valenti, you can count me in Group 3, but strongly leaning to Group 4 (ordering). Just way too cool to spec a bass to my preferences. although I have to say I'd be hard pressed to do anything different than the recent Nordie loaded Silver PJ Valenti 5. Schweet. Although AJ's #27 also looks VERY sweet. Then again, what about that black beauty with Ebony FB and matching black headstock. Sigh ... GAS strikes. Gary

I'm in group 1.

Mine is a Lake Placid Blue 4 string with Alder Body.
Maple neck w/Rosewood Fretboard, Pearl Blocks and Cream Binding.
Chrome Hardware, Schaller tuners with a detuner on the E, and a Gotoh 201 bridge.

Mine was built when Nino was still using the Fender style headstock, and before he began numbering them.

I've been amazed by some of the basses I've seen on the Valenti threads in the last few days. The ash j bass with anondized hardware, black headstock and those funky nordstrand fat stacks is killer.
If the parts are bought from warmoth, what sorts of things does Nino do to make them turn out so special. I've never seen anyone's project basses from Warmoth turn out like that. What part of the craftsmanship is his and what part is Warmoth's?

Group 4 for me!!!

And I want it like this one:
[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Alder with that top and finish. White pearl-oid pickguard. Rosewood fingerboard. Nordy or Sadowsky hum cancelling singlecoils. Sadowsky pre. Hipshot D-Tuner.
Ahh....someday!!

Oh, and gotta have that matching headstock!!

 Wow. I love a good blue finish, I usually prefer a transparent blue, but that maple top is just killer!! How about some pearl blocks on that neck?

So, when are you going to get this? :D

I'm probably in group 4. I'm pretty sure I will be getting a Valenti for my next bass but don't have any money at the moment and more importantly not sure what to get, I like the Geddy Vee but the jury is still out whether I'm a 4 string guy or a 5 string guy.

Ok, I'm in group 1, but may jump to group 4 for a passive P-Bass.

Mine bass:

34" scale 5 tuned E-C with an ash body, Quilted Maple top
Quilted headstock overlay
Maple neck with Ebony board
Nordstrand Fat Stacks
Aguilar OBP-1 w/ series parallel and passive tone control
Black hardware

The bass is amazing. Nino does excellent work and I am very happy with my choice to go with him.

I have attached a quick sound clip. This is a melodic piece using the extended range.

That tone is amazing! It sounds almost like an acoustic guitar!
