I'm going to put myself into the 3.5 category. I am considering one, and will order one once I get the funds together. Things are tight at the moment, but I think my next bass will have to be built by Nino.

May be fall before I can seriously start planning, but I'm going to have to do some photoshop work and start researching what I really want.

I'm sure I won't be dissapointed.

I suspect my next bass may be from Nino. He is a great guy, his basses look like he sweats every detail and is learning from one of the best builders in the universe. Everything I have seen from him appears excellent and the reviews support that.

So, back to working out the details of my next bass!

That's a great looking bass that you have there! Do you have any soudclips of it? I'm really interested in the Nordy Dual Coils sound...seeing as I'm planning a Valenti in the future! Thanks!

Masher88,
I am working on posting some clips here on TB.

ptidwell, that bass is amazing. I'd be interested to hear sound clips, too, to hear the tonal effect all of that Wenge.

Wenge/Wenge sounds radical, but I once played a bass with a neck-through, solid ebony neck/fingerboard/headstock made by Rybski (sp?) that sounded killer!

Any clips that you could add to this thread would be appreciated!

Talk about being late to the party :D

1 and 3 for me. Mine is the all black fretless 5 i'm holding in my avatar. I think it's still the only fretless nino has ever built :D Soundclips are comming as soon as i can play more than one note in tune.

I'm planning on a stealth NP5/NJ5 five string or a vintage looking fretted version of my fretless....still can't make up my mind :help:

Consider me in group #3. I usually post in just about every Valenti thread, stating that someday I am going to order one, but I really do plan on doing it eventually.

I am in serious want of a 4 or 5 string J-style bass. With the options that Nino is offering as far as pups and preamps, and all the positive reviews his basses have recieved, there is no doubt in my mind that I will be going to him when the time comes.

Now that I've had the silver Valenti PJV for a little over a month, I decided that it was time to drag out my Fender American Deluxe Precision V for a little comparison. This Fender is a really good one, and has a lot of features that I copied to the Valenti design.
Both basses have maple/maple necks, alder bodies, and 34" scales with PJ pickups. Both are using D'Addario Nickel medium lights, though the Fender's are pretty dead, which really shows in the slap sample.

Both basses were plugged directly into the computer using only the eq on the basses themselves. I didn't make major eq changes from track-to-track, even though I go from fingerstyle to slap to pick.

In order to shoot out the two basses, I used four midi tracks that I created a while back of some known songs. The other three are on the posts that follow.

I'll start with my Dock Of The Bay samples, and move forwards from there.
