Anybody knows the control layout for the #042?

2 qns,
How does the OPB-1 compare to the OPB-2? Something about cut and boost
and what is the standard string spacing for a four string bass? I consider Fender standard
The Control Layout of #042 is

OBP-1
-Volume
-Blend
-Treble
-Bass with p/p for preamp bypass

The main differences between the OBP-1 and OBP-2 are:

The -1 is 18V
The -2 is cut and boost while the -1 is boost only
The frequencies on the treble are different.

Personally, I like then both. I have both in 2 of my personal basses. The -1 is paired with EMG 40J and the -2 is paired with Nordstrand NJ4 single coils. The one thing I really, really like about the 2 is that you can cut treble. Sometimes I go from pick playing to finger playing and being able to cut the treble when switching to pick playing is very helpful.

Standard 4 string bridge spacing is 19mm.

Nino sent it with the parchment guard, which looks really classic. I ordered it with the tort guard in my mind, sort of modeling the whole bass after Sadowsky #4511 (although that one has an alder body). When I strted messing with it last night, I put the clear guard on - and I think I will leave it like that for a while. It's sort of halfway between modern and vintage - kind of like me! :smug:

Hi I was wondering about the specs on the Valenti on basstasters.com.
Although I am a fervent Sadowsky, I must admit that that Valenti blows their Sad out of the water tonewise.

Anyone?

Awesome looking bass with some great specs!

This day have I taken delivery of this beautiful thing:

Nino, very nice work. The bass arrived in tune and in great shape. I have played around on it for a half hour or so, and it sounds just as it should. Feels great, not heavy at all, the neck is as good as on any bass I have ever owned.

I've got a couple weeks off from gigging, and will be taking my Skjold to the next one for a number of reasons, but by the end of July I'll have had this one out a few times and will report back.

Thanks, Nino. Nice!

BEAUTY!

i am planning to make a Deluxe 5 out of Warmoth (completion in 2009 due to me being 17!) with you as my inspiration except i'm using passive BassLines pickups because I liked the sound when I once played a Godin BG4 with them.

I have to ask....how did youu get that 5+0 headstock neck with 24 frets instead of the usual 22?

Keep on buildin' Nino.

Nino, gotta say that your work is :hyper: :hyper: !!

When the time comes for me to buy a new bass, you will be somewhere near the top of my considerations :smug: plus I have an established local music college of mine near me that I only just finished from, after studying there for two years - decent ground for some serious plugging on your behalf non? :ninja: One thing that really impresses me about your basses is your headstock design, I think it's brilliant and it's one of the few including the big name manufacturers that I really dig. Carry on the good work and expect an e-mail from me in the future!

P.S I have a couple of favourites you've already built but this one gets a massive mmmmmm-HMM from me
