It's no thicker than any other bass I've built but it has a 3/16" edge radius (sharper edge) which makes the body appear thicker than a bass w/a 1/4" or more vintage 1/2" edge radius.Nino--the body on that lefty jazz looks thicker than the rest. edit: Did the customer order an extra thick body or is it just the angle that makes it look thicker?
I believe so. My 19 mm 5 strings come very close the the edge of the fretboard. I did do a 18mm spacing that worked well and 17mm should work.Do you think you'll ever have tighter stringspacing available? Like 17mm?
Nino, if you haven't cut my latest commission check, just add this one on...That's great news considering I just put myself in line for one.![]()

Hey Nino, may I ask what strings do you put on your basses? They have grey thread ends. Fender 8250? Thanks.
P.S. You make very nice basses.
Not yet.![]()
There wasn't a shot of the whole bass showing the headstock, but here is the TB/MikeBass Valenti in action (video capture).

Thanks again Nino.
And to everyone els who was involved.
Now, about that neck with the blocks and binding......

The 5 string necks will feel very similar to the USACG necks, flat C shape profile. Can you tell us how the neck profile/ feel of these new necks differs from the USA Cust. and the Warmoth 5er necks?
Headstocks will be thicker to help reduce deadspots, Bodies will be slightly thinner to help reduce weight, the cutaway will be slightly deeper for easier access to the 21st fret.
And to be honest Nino, at first, I really did not like your headstocks. Time, I suppose, has a funny way of changing things because with every amazing Valenti I see, I keep enjoying that headstock more and more. Hopefully, I'll be able to play one soon (maybe even buy one).
Good Lord, someone gave him a mic....

Nino, very nice work. The bass arrived in tune and in great shape. I have played around on it for a half hour or so, and it sounds just as it should. Feels great, not heavy at all, the neck is as good as on any bass I have ever owned.
I've got a couple weeks off from gigging, and will be taking my Skjold to the next one for a number of reasons, but by the end of July I'll have had this one out a few times and will report back.
Thanks, Nino. Nice!
